| Japme here, I have begun some rudimentary texturing of the ship, to layout the paint scheme and window placement. Unfortunately I did not make a ton progress this morning, but there will be pics monday, around 2:00 Eastern. I was generating the maps for the textures, and since I have trouble with Parametric maps, I use flat (isometeric) mapping. I had to separate the nacelles and theis wings from the hull, but that gave me an idea: have the nacelle structure be interchangeable so you could supposedly change for a drydock module, for area of conflict repairs, allowing for ships with damage which keeps them from fighting, to withdraw to a safe distance and be repaired so that they can make it to a full drydock. Probably won't try to model it, but just an idea. On another note, I will be getting high speed on Tuesday and on Friday, finishing up those paper I mentioned a few weeks ago, so hopefully update will come more quickly. |

| SFM Oracle | Nice idea, but the escape pods are too big (by now about twice the size of what they should be). Except that, the majority of pods are usually placed on the saucers. |

| Aresius. I agree about the pods being to big. Yeah, normally their on the saucersection, but what happens when the saucer is completely destroyed, also imagine running the length of the ship during an evacuation. It speeds up abandoning the ship, and saves lives. Cameron. I use Eovia's Carrara 5 Pro, which is now a DAZ product. Not super fancy like MAX or Lightwave, but fairly powerful none the less. I also modified the main hull. It was to plain and slim, so just behind the sensor array, I added a Galaxy secondary hull. I'll post a pic or two tonight. |

| SFM Oracle | Well, if you look at those fights.. I mean; take the battle of Wolf 359, 60% of these ships had escape pods, yet not a single person survived.. Then, when have we ever seen a starship launching its pods to abandon the wrecked ship? Only one time, the Defiant after it's being hit by an energy-draining(NOT ship killing!!!!) torpedo.. I just remember the old TNG story, were they meet the U.S.S. Bozeman several times and got destroyed mostly. Picards last words are the most effective thing to show that they're not really helpfully: "All hands, abandon ship! I repeat, abandon ..." BOOM |
