Sean, thanx for getting back to me. Sorry about that but at the time, I did not have one of my own, and since I wanted something TNG, I went digging back through several hundred megs of meshes I have downloaded over the past few years and found yours in buried folder of downloads from the site mention above, Un fortunately there were no credits attached.I am currently working on a different part of the scene (turbolift system), but I will work on replacing your meshes with my own. It may be a few days, due to time shortage, but I will get them replaced, as soon as possible.

Does anyone have any links or pictures of the Stellar Cartogaphy room, which I believe is on the 1701-E, if so would you let me know, because I think a variant of that is going to become the admiral's battle directing station, with little holographic ships, phaser, you name it actually flying around.

And I could also use some Pictures of some TNG or later turbolifts. Thanx

Aresius, Here is the render you wanted, sorry about the carpet, it is there for reference and is not final. Any suggestions on filling empty spaces or changes in furniture would be helpful.

I think the back half of the bridge is to crowded. It should be more spaceous. You have these wells behind the the wall stations that you could push two counsels into possibly. Just to get some more working area.

Whisper's right.

Exactly that's why I think that top-down images are the best for rooms.

Looks good!

However, to echo some other comments.. some of the different stations to look a little too close. Especially for me the Captain's chair and the XO/Aux seats. They seem to be almost on top of each other..

Tnanx for input about the consoles. The main wall consoles are probably not going to change, simply because doing so would curtail some really complex reworking of the mesh, because that hollow would only hold one panel at the current scale.

Whisper, youre right about the overcrowding, but the consoles are going to be replaced, with different ones, as Seanr, who made the originals requested that I use my own.

UPDATE: I have added a second level to part of the Bridge. Several people have commented on how the Admiral would have a fleet Tactical Room just off the main Bridge, well its roughed in. Think of Imax holosphere. It is located directly in front of the Bridge and a level above it. It gives the admiral the ability to watch a battle in 3D and direct at the same time. Little hologaphic ships fly around and shoot each other with holographic phares. The Admiral can then select a ship by calling for it by name, registery, or the captain.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK. ITS ROUGH AND THE CHAIRS AND CONSOLES HAVE TO BE REPLACED, BUT THAT IS A FEW DAYS AWAY YET. I WONT FORGET TO DO IT SEANR.

I think Starfleet needs to fire their carpet designers.

The stellar cartography style section is a really cool idea and it certainly seems more useful and more versatile for directing orders in battle than an admiral staring at a viewscreen or looking over the shoulders of the crew to see their consoles. But, it seems like something that could be incorporated into the main bridge, rather than having a separate section.

It seems like they have a way to walk there too. If a situation suddenly heated up and they decided to move to the holographic control centre, it looks as though they'd have to walk off the main bridge, through the turbolifts and through that corridor to get to the holographic area. In meantime, they wouldn't be controlling what was going on.

Pearse, Thanx for the comments. Yeah the carpets bad, but don't fire the carpet people, fire the designer, but then again don't. Its not pretty, but it provides some basic positioning aid as I can place stuff free hand on the grid, in perspective view, and then refine the placement of objects in isometric (top, bottom, left, right, front, back) view. If you have ideas for a pattern, feel free to let me know.

About the Admiral Command, if you have read the rest of this thread, you will know what has been going on. At first i wasn't even gong to have it or the turboshafts, but some one pointed out that modern warships did not have the Admiral and Captain control points in the same room. the room also serves a dual purpose, It is a Stellar Cartography facility as well as the Battle Overview Control (BOC - Admiral Command Point).

About the long walk, is there any ship in the Fedeation registery, that really had any facilities for an admiral in battle. Most of the multiship battles that Ive seen have the admiral at a local starbase or at Headquarters, not actually present. I think the only time Ive seen admirals actually accopmany the fleet is at the end of Voyager's final season, when they finally reach the Alpha Quadrant. Besides it allows me to add a little more detail, and how many shots in the episodes actually follow a person from room to room. They almost always stop o start at the door to the corridor or tubolift don't they?

I might add a secondary Bridge. Im thinking a cross of 1701-D battle bridge, but with a table, positioned at the center rear, like on the NX-01, but that will probably not happen for a while, because now I have to move on to detailing BOC level and the turbolift cars need serious make overs before they reach the quality of the rest of the bridge.

I am open to suggestions of what class ship this should go on and if you answer this request, please include a picture if you can of the top-rear half of its saucer and neck. Send any pics to me at Kickajet@gmail.com.

That is so sweet.

As far as I remember, the commanding admiral (Hanson or Ranson or somewhat like that) of the Battle of Wolf 359 was directly present and got killed on his ship (some Excelsior ship) And I'm sure that he's not the only one. There are surely other flag officers that joined the standing forces in the 2nd Klingon war and the war against the Dominion-Cardassian union.

Usually, the stellar cartography is somewhere inside the ship, not close to the bridge. The carpet is by now of no concern I'd say, because you stated you need this pattern for orientation. So be it. I'm looking forward for the final version.

The bridge is way too crowded. get rid of all those extra consoles, they take up too much room. and are totally unnecessary.

1) Helm-OPS 2 consoles, plus an axillary on the rear-wall
2) Engineering tactical, secondary tactical, plus axillary. 2 either side rail-consoles, 2 rear-wall consoles
3) Comm and Science, 2 corner-wall consoles
4) Emergency Engineer and Security (Transporter, Shield, internal forcefields, damage control, security dispatch, etc) 2- rear wall consoles.

Everything else is extra. Captain and advisor's should have axillary consoles that can be configured easily to any situation. Everything else is extra and takes up room. You should shrink the bridge, and make the Admiral's tactical control room a little bigger.

Well, the three behind the commanding chairs should remain, but be redesigned: One staying and the other two changing for a holographic image of the ship (the MSD, you know).
Those at the front are the chairs around the holographic table for the battlefield, as far as I get it, so they should remain. Else keep to the symmetry.
But generally, homer's right.
