Those are some nice interior sets you've got going there, I especially like the fact that the bridge will not be on the top-most deck. It kinda goes against Gene's vision of likening starships to ocean-going ships with the bridge on top, but this way it makes more sense, especially for a ship that is bound to see battle action.

Japme here. Sorry for the lack of updates. I have been short of time do to school papers and other things. I have begun work on a saucer module that will be interchangeable with that of the Galaxy Class. I'm also doodling around with a jumpsuit that might be usable in poser( no idea, if it would work, due to the fact that I do not have poser myself).

I might be able to post pics tonight, but probably tomorrow afternoon. I would like any sketches you would care to contribute for the Jumpsuit. Im thinking a mixture of TNG/VOY/Nemesis. Comments?

I try to find time to get those pics, we'll see what happens.

I dunno how you would do that. I made a texture set for the Daz Victoria 4 figure jumpsuit, that encompasses all of trek TNG+. I could link it if you want, its on renderosity. (you would need to buy V4 Bodysuit)

Homer.
Thanx for the response. Sorry about the break in updates, but I had a brain flush the other day and could make no progress on the interiors, so I started doodling with a saucer and a suit. I spent roughly two hours this afternoon scanning Scifi-Meshes for Uniform threads. I saw yours and I have your TNG and VOY catsuits somewhere, but I don't have Poser, so I can't use them. Then I remembered a low poly model I had of a man, and decided to try to suit him up. Well, I took a 608 poly model and expanded and recontoured it and gave it 2X auto-calculating smoothing, and rippd off a quick trekky texture for it and here is the result. The head, hands, and boots are from various old compliations of different projects and downloads.

Comments? If you have an idea for a different design scheme, I can post the Uv map that I am using. If anyone knows where I could get my hands on some free TNG footware meshes, I would appeciate it.

Thanx for pointing that out. I noticed that the other day, Aresius, after the render finished.

Here is the UV map for the uniform mesh. I would appreciate any concepts, as the current paint job is just a placeholder. Thanx.

where did you get this UV map, and where was the figure? DAZ3D Studio is a free application for poser users. It is not completely backwards compatible, but it is good for sorting out light placement and poses, and very fast renders. Take a look, and i may be able to help you get the V4 figure, it was being offered for free at one point.

As far as uniforms, you are welcome to tinker with my textures to fit to your uniform. A good rule of thumb is adding a little bit of noise and grain to your textures, and im not sure i agree with your uniform concept either. check out the 2D WIP section, maybe post it there as it is a little off topic here.

btw, i have a half-finished Holodeck wall, i will post it when i have time

Homer.
Thanx for the quick reply. The UV map is from the Suit. I made the Suit in Eovia Carrara 5 Pro. The map was generated by me and it was fairly easy to do using the automatic UV map generator of Carrara's. Many times the generator will have problems, but now and then, I get lucky.

I'll take a look at the 2D WIP/Gallery, and see what I find.

Any suggestions for the mesh itself?

And here is a redo of the uniform texture, with the arms pulled to the right length (I think).

In general, i dont like this uniform at all. It would be better to take an existing design, and add a few minor changes to get your own unique look, but i recommend sticking with the canon uniform, from late DS9 and First Contact.

I second homer. Having a canon uniform in a canon era is better than creating a new uniform for a canon era, unless you create a parallel dimension for it.

Concerning the uniform now seriously, it looks very good. Like an alteration of the TNG uniforms. Nice so far.
