well, there's IMHO too much free space at the front and too less at the rear.

There's too few people like you. People who make a cool bridge and then plan to release it. I must confess, I don't like the ship that much, the bridge is supposed
to be from a flagship yet the ship looks like a warship.

Aresius.
I'm taking a look at how to even out the filling of the bridge, but not having much luck.

Capt. Kirk.
Glad you like the bridge, sad you don't like the ship.

Worked on the Conference room today and made some big progress in finalizing the detail and lighting, TAKE A LOOK.

Looks great! Seems that Starfleet put a lot of budget into this ship. It looks elegant, for a ship that is going in for battles.

More information please?

If you take the romantic view of starfleet being about research and exploration, from the start of TNG, then yeah, but surely after the events that unfolded in DS9 etc, they were revy much on a war footing.

Are you saying that in a carrier battle group, the admiral should be in a reaserch vessel? - no he will transfer his flag to the prime asset - the heaviest hitter in the fleet - the nimitz aircraft carrier.

Even the Sovie Ent E was an evolution to a more warship oriented starfleet, I don'f feel any conflict between the ship design and purpose at all.

@Japme: Looking at the conference room, and the bridge - I hope the sickbay has a good laser eye surgury unit, because that lighting level - eve though it looks cool, has gotta play havoc with everyone's eyesight!

japme, I must say that you have a very interesting and original bridge design there. While it's not something I would have personally it's great to see you are not affraid to try something new and go beyound was has been set down in the various series.

Something like what I showed in the image.

The CONN/OPS forward about a metre or so, those two side stations at the front more forward and a bit to the walls (three quad front, one quad toward the wall). The central stations (commanding area + the stations behind them) forward about a half metre.

I think that should do, just show an image.

The flagship is supposed to represent Starfleet and the Federation, but a warship will terrify any non-Federation races. The best thing to do would be a ship that doesn't look dangerous but can pack a punch.

Wow, thanx for all of the replies.

MonkeyBoy.
Is that "More information, please" to me?

Yeah the lighting is good, but not good for the enviroment. I was playing around trying to get some good publicity shots and inadvertantly came up with "Hitman"-ish lighting. It will be more "user friendly in the end.
---What I'll do is: add fill lights and more white/yellow to the lighting.

Majestic.
Glad you like it. I've tried to keep the stuff as canon as possible, without actually being canon.

Aresius.
Those adjustments can be made, and shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.

CaptainKirk.
I agree and thats a hard balance to achieve. If you jump back to where I began the ship, there is a sketch by Luke D'anvil of a non-canon carrier. That would scare the romulans right out of their cloaking field. So I have tried to shoot more toward the Soveriegn. Large, majestic, and mean as... but only when it needs to be.

A starship is like a woman in many ways. There many aspects to her nature. Treat her well and she will do the same to you. Make her angry and get the... out of Dodge.

Here is the pic with the bridge changes you suggested, Aresius.
