Great, I really like this model. It's good to see a battlestar that looks heavily armored and survivable (instead of plastered with obvious kill-me-here locations). Also lookes very well thought through and workable.

newman, Aresius and Infinity238,

Thank you for quick and/or useful responses.
Yeah, I understood the situation and will update size comparisons in a few days.

As of now, I'm wondering... how long did those images take to render, and on what hardware/software?...
It took about 1 hour to render (with middle level anti-aliasing and radiosity on) the first image of this thread.
Software: LightWave3D 8.2 on WindowsXP
PC: Pentium4 3GHz, 768MB mem. (made 4 years ago...)

It's always difficult to decide a name of a original vessel...in this time, I wanted to give some strange and unused name to her.

It looks like a little plastic model you can just grab and start painting!! Its SO awesome!! And I like the model too in this case!

Thank you for encouradging comments. I wanted to design heavily armored vessel which had functional and kinda funny appearance. I feel that she may not be bad...
btw, I also remember TOS GALACTICA in an early stage of her modeling...

Never realized you did a Galactica too.. any chance of a higher res render of her? Assuming one doesn't already exist in one of your other threads?

And if you have a chance, maybe another side by side of your armored and unarmored Skinfaxi, in ... oh I don't know, 1440 x 900, not that I'm fishing for a new wallpaper or anything

Funny appearance, more like, FUNKY. At first from teh little thumb pic, I seriously though it looked like the Defender-class or variant threof.

It's a nice Battlestar, but the name is really strange. Can I suggest Drusus or Ganymed as alternatives?
I have all of your other ships, cause they are simply great. I'll have to find a time and convert them for 3DS Max. All that I need is to kill my backlog.

1-Absolutelly no!!! It wonīt be done... You wonīt see a ridiculous pokemon as a crew of my ships. And donīt ask me about technobable too, please!

What's so strange with it?
Skinfaxi was the horse of Dagr (Day) in the norse mythology. Wouldn't be any different if you now name it by greek mythology.

See the Shadows of Darkness, Hear the Scream of Cruelty...

My Galactica's images are only those shown in the gallery on this site. It is unfinished work, structures on the bottom side are not modeled yet.
I added rendering Skinfaxi in 1440 x 900 pix.? to my to-do list, but more progress is needed at first.

FUNKY...sounds good Yeah, though I found that her design resembles backstept's works a little in a early stage of her modeling, I guessed it need not be changed.
btw, height/length ratio of her flight pods was defined based on your Euqinom's, I feel they has well-balaced shape.

Thanks and have fun with my BSs . Though I firstly hesitated to name her "Skinfaxi", now I like very much, especially its sound.

Thanks Aresius, I also think so. I hope that I would be able to give beautiful appearance suitable for her name to her.

Nice so far. The plating needs a bit more details, but the hull does already look very nice.
