Started playing around with some panelling ideas;

Don't know if this is the direction to go or not with this ship - might have a play around later and see what a traditional shield grid looks like on the hull instead.

C&C welcome

@ Aresius - I am sure that Starscream will appriciate the humour... LOL

Lol! Thanks dude. (although FYI I'm generally ambidextrous, so it's only really typing and eating that are affected! )

You know Jay it's funny about the Intrepid's lack of ventral sensor pallets - it's something I'd never actually noticed until you pointed it out... and Voyager is how old now?

14 years old, if memory serves.

Ambidextrous? I know a song about that...

Knowing you, I'm fairly sure I want to remain well in the dark about whatever song that is...

lol.

@Jayru: Nice work, though I would suggest to add more segments onto the upper parts (above the phaser array-perimeter) as well as the front segment that we see surrounding the thruster.

Shield grid do-da

I know, I know - I said I would never do one again - but:

here's what a shield grid might look like;

Pretty much kept it to Voyagers style and layout... Before anyone asks, the grid as been laid out, so it's possible to build in the windows and not have the grid lines running through the middle of them

I could go either way, although I think combining the two would not work. There are no real advantages for me either way, both laying out a shield grid, and laying out the pannels take time

I may need to sleep on this for a while before I make my mind up, as once done, it will be hard to undo - and I am not going to work on two versions of this mesh at the same time. This particular project already requires 3 seperate meshes to complete (the captain's yacht, and the vessel that destroyed the Horizon ).

Anyhoo's, now you have both ideas to ponder on, let me know what you think Obviously these are not the final layout designs for either idea, just quick (quick he says... ) knock up's of what they could possibly look like. The finaly layouts on either will be better...

C&C welcome!

More, as and when...

Hmm.. I vote (strangely enough) Option 1 - it seems a little more organic on that hull form.

Although, I beg you not to go slapping any black paint on it like the Ent-E had... dark makeup is for Goths and Emos (and evil mirror Kirk).

Suicide bombers... what makes them tick?

I'm leaning that way myself, it seems to fit in more with the time frame that the ship was launched in - even though when I did the original design I put a traditional shield grid on it, LOL

I do prefer the first version as well.
Black's for Goths, Emos and Metal-Fans, please. I should know that, I count myself to the last group.

So I like black as well. YAY!
