seriously ... I have looked at the "real" TIE ... it has only "colors" no real "Maps"

maybe a dirt shader or so but at the end it is a "clean" starship

You should definitely check it out - there's no substitute for seeing it in person.

Here comes a little update: I added some greebles (adding greebles is really time consuming)

Hey Chris,

I'm sure that you're aware of this, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

If you're going to model the black part of the "solar panels", it might be useful to know that the material used to make the original hero solar panel material is called Koolshade, and the small slats are set at a 30 degree angle.
