| SFM Nugget | Just for the fun of it, I built a mesh of the Kobayashi Maru based on the plans found here: Star Trek LCARS Blueprint Database - S.S. Kobayashi Maru Plans. I have the printed plans too. And it was fun trying to figure out what the author/artist was trying to show vs. what it actually builds as a 3D model. Gordon |

| SFM Guru | Looks interesting and somewhat non trekish....i never thought that the Maru was more than a bulky freighter. |

| According to the novel 'The Kobayashi Maru' there was never an actual ship. But since there are so many takes on what is canon and non canon... Interesting that the ship was originally Klingon is design. |

| SFM Nugget | A good friend of mine, Roger Sorenson, produced one of the other sets of Kobayashi Maru Plans which I always found to be more "Trek like". Found at Star Trek LCARS Blueprint Database - Kobayashi Maru Neutronic Fuel Carrier. But it has always been slightly confusing to me on how it would look 3-dimensionally (don't tell him ![]() Anyway, I've modeled the front panels based on Dave Neilson's work. I'm not sure if I like them as actual objects. I might just use an image map. I've also re-did the Reactor Cooling System (pipe along the boom). Also, here's a quick rotation I did a while ago http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/1964/KMaru/K-Maru_01.mov Gordon |

| I've always felt that the front of that ship should be where the Neutronic fuel modules are, with a long "tail" coming out from behind the ship. Just looks that way to me! Liking the direction this one's going! |
