I absolutely *love* the scaloping in the fuselage at the sides of the canopy, the improved view etc.

The new canopy looks great, but the previous had a stronger look.
The original had echo's of an F-14's canopy, where as this looks very FW-109 from WWII,

but my chief concern with *both* the original *and* this new thinner framed canopy, is that the front face still seems a little too abrupt; the angle is too sharp.
With all the organic curve and smooth surfaces and long nose, this canopy angle sticks out like a VW bug windscreen, IMHO the front panel's angle needs to be shallower, sloping furthet forward.

To be honest, you claim that the engines were modelled on the F/A-37s from the movie Stealth, well I think this bird looks better than the ones they used!

I know it is not much of an update...but I will have much more later on.

Now I love the opinions that you all have given me...and I do agree that the front of the canopy had to be redone, so I redid the front part to resemble the Tomcat front part of the canopy.

As for the Frame, well I am actually happy with it...to be honest.

Very nice model ! If there is one thing I would change in the ship it would have to be the back - it's not bad but I think that if it was set at one angle it would look more aggressive Oh and one more detail - change the thumbnail on the thread because it's misleading

Okay, time for me to be hard to please
If you like the thinner framed cockpit - and I confess, it *is* growing on me! I don't think the tomcat oval works with a light frame (who knows, maybe it'll grow on me too!)
But just a thought, how would it look if you were to scrap that oval, and instead bring the front tips of the triangular front side panels in closer to gether, so that the very-front panel tapered - was wider at the top than at the base? No I'm not sure about it, just thinking out loud

Oh, and while I'm spilling out ideas that may or may not be valid,

Have you considered trying putting the canopy hinge on the front rather than the back, so that it opens up forwards instead of to the rear?

Now this is my first time to actually trying to texture a fighter, so any helpful comments will be appreciated.

I thought I would start experimenting with the texturing and such....
