Thanks every...but I will need some help. Yep i said help.
I just noticed the numbers are see-through...I tried to make a composite (layers)...but when i (just discovered) that when I layered the numbers on the wings...the numbers become see-through.

So my need and help is this, how can I layer numbers on a object without making the numbers see-through?

Hmm, that shouldn't happen, only if you're working with opacity maps that aren't aligned properly. Since you're working with composite material I'll presume you have a layer for the base colour and another for the markings? Double check the opacity maps, black is transparent, white is opaque.

There are two ways to set this up. The base layer is your base colour and weathering and the one on top is your lettering. One way to set this one up is with jpg's or bmp's, then you need a white background with coloured lettering for the diffuse slot and an inverted one in the opacity slot. Or instead of working with jpg's (which are hell on max's memory handling anyway) you can use png's, in Photoshop, just make a png with a transparent backgrouund and just your black lettering and use that as top layer. Max will keep the alpha channel of that png intact and automatically you'll have a fully transparent layer with only the lettering showing.

BINGO!....Great, thanks for the help...it worked...I knew in a way PNG was the answer, but I kept on using the Opacity...that is what was screwing me up...

it is funny, but months ago. I knew how to layer like this, but then I Completely forgot...thanks again for reminding me bro...Great help...

I can always count on my fellow modelers out there in cyberspace.

Hehe, anytime mate. That's why there are billions of photons carrying bits and bites flying though big, fat cables over the ocean's floors and landmasses. The internet is NOT only for pron!

Another good tip is to include the lettering onto your base texture, then you can weather and 'dirty-up' all at once in one big psd file

ROFL Kadaeux. I like the pheonix, but what you think about a hollow part for the eye?
and I really dont have a color scheme in mind The sqaudron name I was thinking of was screaming pheonix, but its not plural does it still work.
