looking great there, one thing is I would move the seat forward to about the middle of the cockpit, right now it looks way too far back

New update on the cockpit....

I will be doing the controls and consoles in a LOW POLY format...that will be easy on the poly's, and can give it more detail.

CRASH!

sorry, that was just my jaw hitting the floor!
That looks just awesome!
The main body of the seat being thinner than the cushioning, and thinner than normal ejection seats works really well.

Only problem is that the poor old pilot is going to have his legs cut off if he ever has to eject!
Modern fighters extend the front panel down the centre, between the pilot's legs, was this a concious choice not to do this in this case?
Also, will there be a heads-up-display or are you going with helmet mounted displays?

hehe..I knew that "YOU" would catch that one bro...but actually since this is fighter was built in the future, it would have a future way of ejecting, and an idea I took from a game called STAR LANCER and WING COMMAND.....the fighters of the Sol Fleet will have Ejection Pods...the entire cockpit area will eject as a whole, with minimal thrusters.....(I hope thats ok boss)

As for the HUD, not sure yet...debating on the Helmet idea or an advance HUD system.

Good idea, give the pilot a survival capsule, not without precident, there are a few current military plane that do this now, like the F111.

A helmet mounted system is probably more likely in reality, but a HUD would probably look more visually pleasing (although the advanced Talons in Stealth did not have HUD, but this was probably mainly to give clearer views of the actors)

I was thinking about a modified HUD Helmet design....that would give it a more of a futuristic look...

So modified hud does that mean shorter than a normal hud with like half the features built into the helmet?

by the way that thing is just awsome!
