Good looking design mate. And good move on moving those maneuvering jets outwards. Don't worry too much about the shape of those things either. Y'know with the Harrier and F-35, they have maneuvering jets too on their wingtips and they're nothing more than very simple exhausts linked to the main engine. They're actually nothing more than little holes in the wings with a tube going back to the main engine. So your design is already more high-tech and sci-fi

Indeed, good placing for them. Just watch out they don't fry your canards ey

Neat! One arotech comment though. The sturcture for the canards is cool looking but structurally it might be a bit weak and aerodynamically not so great as it puts a hell of a lot of stress on them. Why not try elongating the first bit sticking against the hull into a full LERX (LEading Root eXtention) it's what the mig-29, f-16, f-18, SU-37 have (see link http://www.lerx.net/Arbre/Lerx/Data/FA18D%20LERX.jpg). The low angle leading edge in front of the actual wing or canard angle does a great deal breaking up the force of the air hitting the wing/canard and also improves low speed handling. Just an idea of course, as I said, it's looking cool as it is but it could look cooler

umm, sorry I dunno, quite honestly I liked the old canards a whole lot more, they seemed to flow with the design so well, but these new ones just seem like an afterthought and dont fit the design at all imo. Also why did you change from the blueish metallic texture? It was nice, looked like paint, the grey is a lot more dull imo. Otherwise looks great, you've progressed a hell of a lot since the start of the thread.

Hi guys, sorry it's been a while, been at work in a location with limited internet and tight surf-control! Just looking at the forward Canards, and d'you know what, I like 'em up AND down! so (and I cannot believe no one has suggested this already!) Why not have both? Do the words "variable geometry" mean anything? You can have the canards up for atmospheric flight, and down out of the way of the thrusters for space flight. Just a thought.... cheers,
