I'm modeling in Max. I'd love to see yours. (hmm, not just a little too close "I'll show you mine, if you show me yours.")

No worries there, mate. I take my texturing as serious as my modeling. (And this ship really does come to live in the texture part).

Not so much to rig yet, except the louver covers, and don't know how they work... yet. Okay, haven't looked either. Big thing is the engine rotation; there's something weird that happens with the fold-down hydraulic system when the engines rotate that I'm going to have to decipher yet.

In the series it was something they always hid, and never addressed, in the film you actually see the hydraulics split in half and retract before engine rotation.

I made a couple of fireflys myself in the past, never finished them, and they weren't half as accurate as yours though.

Cool I like it.
Im also tackling it in Max using Sean Kennedy's tutorial at Foundation 3D which was for LW. Can be a bit difficult at times (especially those stencils) but a challenge worthwhile. ATM shes at 4371 polys.
Heres a couple of screenies I just took for you.

Hawk, nice start. Now, let's see some more.

Thanks Dr.

More stuff.

And just cause I was playing around...

For those who like them.

And, I have now built this part like 5 times now, but I think I might actually be happy with it, now.
