Lightwave BSG - Original Series Basestar

Well I had a little extra time to do some high-res shots of this model. It's not quite finished yet and needs some detail around the edges. But due to my other active projects, it will take some time to get back around to this. There are many parts on this so there may or may not be a smoothing error or two. Tried to minimize as best I could wink.gif

This was my first large-scale starship. I've learned a lot of things in the process that I will take with me in my next starship project. Oh, and if you were curious on the timeframe, this was modeled inside of 1-weeks time.

Wow, I'm impressed. Now I've never seen the original Battlestar Galactica (or the new one), but I must say I love the design. (What's better than one saucer? Two.) I also like the work you put into it. Are those big grooves runways?

,,Two heads are better than one. Two heads sharing one body means trouble the size of Jupiter. So the next time you ask for a second AI, captain, I'm going to depressurize the bridge." - Said by a certain AI in control of a military ship who loves practical jokes.

Those are yes.. runways as you could call them. These are the bays that all the original cylon raiders would come pouring out of.

very nice work ... only one critique ... the panellines are a little to large for that king of Large Ship ... but anyway ... looks cool!

Very nice model man. Only comment would be that all your edges are now to sharp and the model won't reflect light properly. you should try and bevel all those edges to get a more realistic look.

When you love a pet, loosing it is like loosing a part of your soul. I lost part of mine on Feb 12 2008. Never will it be the same again.

Cool! It's like a (particularly clean) model kit.

Sweet looking!!! I agree about the beveling the edges though.

Makes me want to go back and watch some of the Original BSG.
