Arrow

ONly textures on this ship are the ribs in the deflector and the same map used in the shuttle bay doors. Everything else is modeled. Oh and the ribbing on the phaser strips is a pattern thats a default material. Forget which one at the moment but I think that would count as a texture.

sample image. . a little closer than youd ever want to or should ever get to this area.

MadKoiFish, very nice rendering and detail on the sensor array pallet.

Hrm, I could swear I posted them recently . . . but I cannot find them. heh I bet I typed it out in a reply then deleted it and only remember typing it. . . . .
Asus Laptop A8something or was it 7 I forget lol
1.8coreduo
1gig ddr2 (I forget the speed)
512 7600 GF go was a wow card at one point but now reviewers call it a midrange.
ASUS A8Jm-H019H Intel Core Duo 14" Wide XGA NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 NoteBook - Retail at Newegg.com

I wanted a lappy with higher rez but stuck at 1280X800 due to the demand that it had a dvi out which this has both dvi and vga. Screen sucks arse as do all laptop lcds short of the 2500$ sonys.
I know that 1500 coulda got me more desktop but at this point with dx10 looming and new memory and other crap coming I felt the need for mobility outweighed buying HDW on the end of a upgrade cycle not to mention trup quad cpus arriving mid 2007 (that cobbled intel thing doesnt count its a bus connection yet again)
Either way long and short its not that WOW of a system. Only thing going for me is the 512mb FB on my gfx the pcix interface and the proc. Cause lord knows the hdd in this thing sorta um sucks ass. PCI hdd cobbled to a pcix interface. Id buy a better one but I think a extra gig of ram is a better choice. Oh as well mobile stick to ATI, nvidia has greifed me a lot with this and 3 other laptops I maintain for ppl. Drivers are utter crap exp since I have to manualy hack the damned inf files to even get them to install. -_-

short review:
nice slim light and decent looking laptop. EXP when next to say a dell which looks like a vtech toy from toysrus. (cheap plastics etc) Only drawback is the HDW support. All the buttons are run via craplets instead of firmware. Its a centrino laptop, not much to rave there intel wireless is crap. I didnt relise it was centrino certed till I opened it DOUH lol. Once you learn what hotfixes to install and not to install its a fairly decent laptop only heavy complaints stem from crappy video drivers. Often when it goes to sleep it pulls a ME and doesnt return power to the lcd. I have to hybernate then return to get power. My AMD64turion compaq never did this with SP2. Overlays are crap as well (another videocard related issue) And the lcd sucks. But most all laptop lcd suck. Short of those mega batt eating sony monsters with the 17"+ screens. At that point those are folding pcs, not mobile devices.

Full tilt I get about 3 hours out of the tiny batt this comes with. Id prefer a larger batt but its livibale. The compaq I had went 6 hours while gaming but that battery was larger than those older makita packs you find on circular saws, weighed about as much too 10lbs or so. DVI and vga out rules. craploads of usb ports 5 of them all over. And a full expres card slot only missing thing is pcmcia (aww all my old cards are now desk clutter) Oh and the finish is a silver paint like hting so the top will scratch up over time. and only other nit is the fn key is where the ctrl key is suppose to be so I often endup doing other crap to things in max because of it

I quite love being able to model during booring lectures or while I am out doing arrands or whatnot. Get tonnes of looks too exp with this machine the further you are the nicer the lcd looks. which is odd usualy its a narrow field of view but at about 4ft the screen realy looks good. ohwell lol

Ok enough of the blather lol I gotta go model the other trench then decide what details to add to the secondary hull plates.

Talking

rest of the blasted annoying sensor dodads.
Attachment 20167Attachment 20168
Not sure on some of the ribbed things, suppose to look like some sort of coilish like sensor but at a distance its just a hunk of grey crud. . .
Guess Im at the stage I should stop putting off the hull details and windows. . . ughh :P
