Talking Yet more Trek Crap! TNG explorer

OK sorry to remove so much but 19mb and most of it was this thing. So I removed most of the OLDER images only. So I hope you all had what yoou wante dof them etc. Sadly I cannot host them on http anymore since I lost my large BW free http recently And I refuse to use those spam servers for anything.

Well. . . . I done it heh, one more Trek ship to fill up the masses of them that already exist, yet one more Trek ship in my collection of . . . um stuff. .
Yeah, I know
Either way got started on this earlier tonight. I had started it earlier with the idea of basing it totaly on the game mesh that lennier1 posted in his ref thread " It´s time to feed the wild animals again (Trek references) ". But I tossed that once I found that the original design was inspired by an Atolm Design. So I decided to mix back in some of the design queues that are Atolm, add a bit of MKF to it and see what I got. I posted a rough top down view of the ship in my Trek Crap 2D thread.

Since this was originaly labled Titan Class as well as U.S.S. Titan, I will have to rename this, granted I think i have strayed far enough from the original idea that i should alienate this ship totaly from the original ideas. But it will remain a Science explorer mission ship. Loads of sensors, heavy shielding. And plenty of room for crew to live for months to years in ship.
Reg # I was looking t using would be around NCC - 79581 or some crap like that. .
So without further adue, here are the early samples. . .

belly angle showing the saucer details and sovish sensor array.

Side view showing the angle I like most. The warp cut out needs help. . .

IMAGE REMOVED TO CLEAR UP ATTACHMENTS
As the rear neck and hull shows its pretty early on and rough. . . In time the secondary hull and neck will be joined. so everything wil be fairly smooth. and yes, i stuck the bridge module from my other ship on here for the hell of it.

And here is the original doodle I did a clear mix between the Galaxy and Soverign.

I will be making running changes to the design as I go, yes, I said I would design her completely befor modeling but I decide I needed to see a base mesh before I went on. And obviously as seen with the mesh I have already deviated from the rough shape. (mostly neck bits)

Things I want to keep are the Atolm nacels, The original idea of the Titans sensor array, a sov look, with the older deflector design. Im a bit scared how Ill deal with that area in materials and effects. Bridge decks, shuttle bays etc are all up for grabs at this moment. I would like to find something diffrent to do with these areas than what I have now BUT I do want to keep the same ammount IE 2 cargo and at least one shuttle bay for dignataries. Currently I have 2 in saucer ones a cargo other is shuttle and 2 in neck which are cargo and crew. The tail thing isnt a shuttle bay but um I dunno heh. Itll be something but it wont be a shuttle bay if I can avoid it. . .

Ah crap I forgot the delete that sensor pod. . Itll most likely be a SOV style thingy down there (a oblong oval dealie) So, please ignore it. please??

And no I havent given up on the C era crusier, it is just on hold for a day or so while I decide waht I will do with its secondary hull, that and I need a break from it.

Maybe in honor of the inspration source itll be an Altom Class ship?

Tech crap
Ok, I thought about it some and maybe I should look into what types of tech this thing will carry.

Weapons:
Phaser strips. (most current of manufacture) Multipont strip
Photon quantum torps, micro torps (mostly for the newer probes)
Pulse phasers (eh I like these dunno what a explorer will do with them. Clear spacial debris?? Or random comet abuse?

Warp:
Subspace friendly warp drive. IE no warp 5 speed limit. Can run max warpp without damage to subspace. (see season 7 of TNG)

Shields:
High power, cannot say much more than it would have more beef behind them with the explcit reasoning that the crew will be doing things that might need it. Such as hanging around nasty annomolies, getting chased by some triple breasted leeches with disruptors.

Sensors:
well many of then like up the WAZOO the entire saucer and secondary hull rims will be filled with them.

Shuttles:
lots of em, misc runabouts smaller shuttles maybe a cargo hauler or 2 and maybe a repair ship. Possibility to manufacture shuttles probes etc on ship from raw materials or parts.

Sciences:
Hydroponics, Idea is they would collect specimins and other junk, so a large are would be set aside for this.

Hrmm cant think of anything else. . .

Great start to this ship. I glad you brought back the neck. It seems that since Voyager every official trek ship has lost this. It take some of the magic was I think that you had with the original Enterprise.

MadKoiFish, Why do you keep putting crap in the titles your threads? You clearly love TREK through-and-through. Has witnessed by most of your threads and attention to detail.

Another nice ship.

Looking that it will be a great mesh.

Atolm class sounds good. Makes justice to the inspiration.

The only criticism I'd make is that the engines and nacelle pylons seem a little spindly compared to the large looking saucer, but maybe it'll feel more balanced in the actual mesh.

Fantastic schematic anyway, exceptional detail and some great ideas. The split shuttlebay doors on the saucer are one of my favourite bits, although if they're counted seperately, the ship has five shuttlebays. :|
