GALCOM Fighters: An original scifi thread resurrected

I have a couple of fighter classes somewhat built up (save for texturing and designing the damned cockpit module, which is drop-loaded into the craft itself and launched from a fighter launch tube on a carrier or starbase). Here's the first of the group:

XF-1400 Series ["Tomcat"]

This series is the most successful of the GALCOM fighters, entering the Mark 9 variant, which is stealth and Hawking Drive capable. This fighter is typically a long-range single-person craft with twin vulcan cannons forward and up to four missiles mounted on each of her wings.

Although the Marines and Star Force have stopped assigning this class to pilots, the Naval Force still uses them on older carriers and command bases.

Length = 35m
Wingspan = 40m
Height = 4m

Missiles mounted per wing: 2 proton sidewinders, 2 hawkeye cruise missiles

Crew: 1 pilot

Max. Cruise speed, Mark 9: HDF 350
Max. Clocked speed, Mark 9: HDF 500

Shields: Type 4 generator, miniaturized
Stealth: Type 3 field generator, mini, Mark 7 and above (XF-1470 and up)

UPDATE, 29 APR 2008: The fighter's been redesigned, and the pre-smooth image is being posted, including a docking port for the cockpit module (once the mesh for that is done).

Humm, interesting, but if you want some advise...I would start off just building her in different sections, such as the mid body...and then the wings and such.

I have sent you the blueprints of the Tomcat, which I hope it helps.

But i do want to say is that you are on a pretty good start...very good indeed.
