Downloads: 6 Uploads: 1 | I know I promised more updates but the reason I'm having difficulties posting something new is because I've been trying to figure out what to do with the question of windows.... Although the reasonable thing to do would be just to paint texture the windows on the hull I thought that what would really make this thing look ultra massive is real modeled windows that are size accurate. Now the problem with this is that my 32 bit windows vista can't support the 64 bit version of max which would have made making a lot of modeled windows much easier. So I had to compose such a method that wouldn't actually cruse my max with each new layer of windows and for now it's actually working - 1000 windows modeled thus far and the program hasn't crushed... Here's the result and now bare in mind that by the (long) time all of the windows will be finished this station will be the biggest looking thing ever! and if it doesn't work, well then, it's been a pleasure trying. Have patience... |

But the real trick in preventing this whole object from collapsing and crushing max is that in the main body only the boxes are booleaned and each box of windows group is an indevidual object of its own thus making a lot of small booleans in seperated objects instead of one massive with thousands of booleans inside - which would be impossible, at least with a 32 bit version of max. |
