That's the problem with doing something like this, there is basically no reference available so I'll be winging it a bit and making it my own.

Thanks for the compliments, I appreciate it. I'm no expert in 3d art so don't expect exacting detail, this is more a "let's see what I can accomplish" thing. But the encouragement is great, thank you.

A little colour correction and that's it for the saucer for now.

I'm starting out on the secondary hull, blocking out one side of it. The original Remora's hull appears to go to a point at several places, which to me makes absolutely no sense in terms of ship design (can we say "wasted space", boys and girls?) so I'm going to flatten it out. It'll be a little chunkier at first, but I have some ideas on how to "sleeken" it a bit.

The saucer looks very nice so far. The details are really good (you lied about not being a good modeller )
I can't wait to see what you'll come up with for the hull. The saucer is very smooth so I suggest you do a bit of chamfering around the edges so that it doesn't stand out too much.

I've put the saucer and secondary hull together temporarily to get a feel for how the ship is looking, here's the result.

One last update for the day, I added the nacelle support pylon and stuck on a nacelle I made a while back (never did a WIP on it... pity because it's the best thing I've ever made) just to get more of a feeling of how it will look. I intend on making a TMP-style nacelle to fit with the rest of the ship... that should help increase my grey hair count.

Looks really nice but is the pylon going to stay that way ? It looks like it could snap off anytime not to mention that it just doesn't feel right because of the thin connection ...

Looks good.
As I saw in the original sketch, the two hummmm.... bulges (donīt know how to name it), are just empty structures. Waht are you planning for them? Weapons in the front side and bays at back?

At the moment the pylon will stay that way. Once I finish, I'll see if my little brain can come up with something better.
