It's possible that what you say is correct, but I thought I took into the account the curvature when I was modeling those windows. So it's also possible your eyes are playing tricks. The images aren't that large after all. But either way, I'll be sure to keep an eye on that when I'll model them on the new version. 'Somacruz145' Nothing overly special. I think the images of the older version came out directly out of Max actually. I'll have to check my material and lighting settings in order to duplicate them for the V2. ![]() But ... for the version 2, for the most part it's 99% Max and 1% photoshop (as in I only applied some color tone correction and nothing else). |

I wanted to make a bigger vessel, able to accommodate virtually everything the Galaxy class had (under a smaller deck count) which would be in the Sovereign class range but more sophisticated in it's capabilities. And it's also possible that SF would be examining techs brought back by Voyager (excluding the futuristic ones) that might culminate in a new design similar to the Intrepid class which would essentially serve as a testbed. Akin to what the Galaxy class was back in it's day. |

Bad news is, I lost plenty of data (including the new Nightfire mesh and my recent progress I made on the novel I'm writing among other things). The good news is I replaced the hard drive with a new one which has 160 gb (about 2.5x larger than the last one) and I think it's possible to salvage some of the files on the old drive. I just have to hook the old drive to the desktop computer via the proper connector (which I have) and try to read it. The last time I tried it, Windows kept searching for a new device to no end. I will keep trying though as I don't think the HD is that badly damaged. The laptop I am using for most of my stuff now is a budget one I bought in London 2 years ago. Inspiron 1300, 1.6 GhZ Celeron M, 2 GB of RAM DDR2 (upgraded from 512 over the years) and a recently replaced HD drive. I overclocked the CPU using the pin mod so it's working on 2.1 Ghz, but the pin I used it not holding apparently and the speed is back to the old 1.6 GhZ ... will have to modify the pin a bit or use a new one to bring it back up. Anyway ... I will start working on this mesh soon after I exhausted most of the options of retrieving the data from the old HD. Also, I am going to the UK embassy again in about 10 days to settle the student visa (this time I'm better prepared and have even more documentation ... not that the previous documentation was insuficcient, but I thought to go there this time with a bit more just in case). Anyway ... I will keep you updated on the progress guys. |

But if it seems there is no hope for the drive, put it in the freezer for about an hour then hook it up and try it. I have no idea how or why it works. I learned it from some who used to work at IBM for 30 years. I have done it for customers to retrieve data from dead drives more than once. But I have never gotten the drives to work agian once they die back out. Just a suggestion. And good luck! |
