Downloads: 0 Uploads: 0 | Lol ... I'll have to transfer numerous meshes from my desktop HDD and modify them to accommodate for various minor modifications I did over time. It shouldn't take long though. But I also have pressing matters to worry about ... the UK student visa. I have an appointment at the embassy next Tuesday when I have to provide them with the paperwork all over again and of course pay for the visa. Then 2 days after that (on Thursday probably) I'll be informed of the interview. Let's hope things go better this time and that stupidity shall no prevail. As for the meshes and all ... don't worry ... I'll post some artwork soon enough. First I have sort the meshes out and do the mods. Btw ... this incident with the laptop HDD was the only one I actually ever had. Prior to this I had no issues with HDD's overall at all. But granted, this IS my first laptop which also fell on the floor by accident twice, months before the HDD actually failed. Sigh ... I guess there's a first time for everything, still, I would have desired to be able to salvage the old HDD and the files on it. Oh well, life goes on, and this just might end up to be a positive thing. Oh yes ... been meaning to ask about the following. I need some info on websites that offer mid to high range laptops (customizable of course). DELL comes to mind for example, but I stumbled upon Sager notebook website which is only US based, but it's so called 'gaming' laptop is quite nice. $1299 (Core2Duo T9300, 4Gb of RAM, 8600 MGT, 200 GB HDD 7200 RPM and so forth). Essentially speaking that little thing is quite a power horse from my perspective and would be an excellent investment for when I go to UK. But they don't exist in UK and ordering it so it would be delivered there would cost a bit more. A DELL laptop of the same configuration costs a lot more (primarily because they like to sauce up the price for the CPU and RAM). I could use info on other UK based firms (possibly in London) that provide the ability to customize the laptop at affordable prices (such as £650 up to £700) while retaining a degree of quality. The brand name is not that important since most of it depends on how you treat the laptop over the years. I treat mine very well (apart from the accidental drop which happened when my leg pulled the electrical cable which went from the wall into the laptop and of course dragged the lappy on the ground). ![]() |
| We are who we choose to be and make art that defines us, but there are numerous aspects of our individuality we are born with and are an integral part of what makes us human. Last edited by Deks; 07-04-2008 at 03:31 PM. | |
