I would tend to agree. But considering it's my first run at this amount of greebling it came out as well as I could hope. As you say textures will do a lot. I'm hoping that my lights/windows will really give a sense of scale.

I kind of tried something a little different with the hull shape. Not sure if it's working. I should have something to show tomorrow with a few options.

Like a giant mothership... imgs from independance day come to my mind... but I suppose most of the fleet stationed within the ship, could be launched with minutes. And not just 1 at a time.

Great work.

And the lights'd prolly be just pin pricks on, like the stars...

Well, I was kinda thinking that station might be equipted with a time dilatation device. Than it won't matter if ships will be launching in a minute or in a week, at least from station's perspective.

well.. I lied in my last post. lol. Overnight I schizophrenically debated with myself and made the decision anyway. I ended up using my same hull general shape I've had for a while. The new idea just looked too busy. pics do little justice to what it would actually have looked like in the end, but the general idea just didn't work for me.

I will share what I was working on though.....



and what I actually ended up using.....

right now... about 275,000 I would guess about 350K before it's all said and done since I still have the secondary bays to do.

Ok. I think I'm ready to declare modeling done. I may make minor tweaks from time to time, but overall it's time to start the long process of sorting through material IDs.
