the texture maps are a mix of a few hand painted pieces and the stock 3ds max "space panels" I just combine them at various scales in a mix modifier to get them looking a bit more dense. For reference I just found as many of the deep space asgard shots I could, and tried to match the coloring to that of the Beliskner class, and the specularity to that of the O'neall class so that it felt like both, and at the same time neither (if that makes any sense). ![]() | |

We've seen many other example of the remaining of those kind of ship, for example the episode the tower in season two. As for the size I think it looks great now. |

To answer, 352,980 is the final count for the station. anyway, onto an update! If Raynor is happy, I think this will be the final composition, but I'm always open to input. I went for a slightly different nebula type, that I think is a bit better, and shows off the scale more. If I add anything it will be tiny ships, or possible a small moon to further enhance the sense of scale. c&c welcome. ![]() |

| 2d art is treated as a bastard child in 3D forums. There are cultures on this planet that are just plain not ready for advanced technologies like explosives and automatic guns | |

| SFM Nugget | I think it looks fantastic. The only negative thing I could say about it is still the sense of scale. I'd add some ships closer to it or something to show the scale better. It's still kind of hard to tell (at least I think so) since you don't really know how far away the ship that we see is away from the station (or how far the camera is). It could be a few miles to a few hundred. There's no real scale reference that I can see. But then that could just be me. |
