| SFM Oracle | Very nice! the composition is great, but a few things are holding it back. The Daedalus seems very low detail, there are a few very good models on here for download. Also i agree with adding some other ships around it to get the sense of scale. Like I said, very good comp/angle, it just needs some finishing touches. |

| I know what you're saying. I'm having trouble thinking of plausible objects that will help the sense of scale. Stargate universe ships are so small in comparison that I can't rely on them for scale. I still might add some drones and various small objects around (I say small, but in order to even show up they have to be huge) to make it look more abandoned and to help slightly, but I can't rely on them too much. I won't even bother modeling a Jackson class as it would be about 1px square in that shot. An O'Neil would just about be recognizable. |

| I think it looks fantastic. I think one way to sell the scale may be a bit DOF on the Daedalus, with the station in full focus......or you could keep that shot exactly as it is, and do a couple more with the Daedalus closer to the station, while not showing the entire station (ie. too big to fit on the image) to sell the scale of it better |

| SFM Nugget | It looks perfect! :-) About the scale, I think that in final scene of Odyssey finding Valhalla is few O'Neill ships. Acctualy, just before the finding is Odyssey under fire and is loosing. But Asgard ships from Valhalla detected this firefight and came to help, or something like that (we haven't write that yet). So Odyssey follows them to Valhalla - which mean that in render there might be about three O'Neills in formation with Odyssey - one flying by (="it is huge ship compared to Odyssey"), another a little bit ahead (="must be miles away") and third one more ahead (="jeez, that third O'Neill is really far away and still ain't near that station?"). Of course, some closer render of Odyssey hovering ahbove city might do that too. lol |

| it looks fantastic... what id like to know...is what kind of weaponry this thing has... considering its size it should have some MEGA beam cannon. Because a station, as big as that would need supreme defences. i see the thors hammers in the middle of the station, and the circle inside, mabe that could be some sort of weapon... on the scale thing, i think you should add MORE models into it, ie, more ships that people have rendered on this site. on a not that SGA-3D said, to have the daedalus or another ship close to the station and the station being too big to see completely, another thing is to get an inside view froma puddle jumper and show the station quite close up. |

| Other than point defense there really are no weapons platforms. Most of the defensive power is in the ships and drones of the station. Think of it less like a military installation and more like an airport. Valhalla just hides in the nebula are spends all of it's power on shielding and containment. Drones can settup a defensive blockade if needed. It's size would actually become a problem if it relied on mounted weapons for full coverage defense. The surface would be peppered with weapons, none of which could have full 360 firing angles without risking damage to the station itself. It's more efficient to have mobile platforms that can react to attacks, rather than just hit whatever comes in range. The main towers have several key functions (at least in my sad little mind ). Primarily they house all of the sensor and jamming equipment. To all but the naked eye this station doesn't exist (she was built long before the Asgard had cloaking tech). The four larger bay towers house the shielding systems, and station keeping sublight drives. The four outermost towers are small spires are the communication systems, and would house some of the point defense batteries. When you think of a station this size, and the number of ship/drone traffic, and communication from other Asgard installations and systems, you would need some serious comm hardware, at least in it's heyday. I still need to add the supergates. at least one whole, and one broken. Does anyone have an O'Neil class I could use? I have an extremely low quality one I built last night for distance, but for closeups I'll need a good detailed one. Or for that matter an Ori ship (for another project ). If not then anyone have good orthos of both? I may end up replacing the Odyssey later ( I plan to build my own Daedalus again and make it more show accurate/detailed, but not for a while) I'm glad everyone likes the composition though. Took me bloody long enough to paint the nebula. |

Now the supergates will be seperate mobile platforms. I'm actually going to start modeling those soon. | |

| SFM Nugget | When you add all those ships to the scene, it's gonna be very cool. btw. it looks more than perfect so far. Great work. Just one more thing: could you make a wireframe render and upload it because i'm really curious those details. Oh and pls. at least in 1 Mp. thx |
