quick update before I crash for the night. ![]() ![]() apologies for the freaky light change. One of my MRspots just stopped working for some reason. wouldn't cast shadows. had to replace it and it ended up brighter. easier to see details though.

very nice designs man, tho 1 thing puzzles me, wat are all the mechanisms on the bottom for? if it is a station (and before it was said to be more of a factory or warehouse for ships) then why does it need it all? (other than coolness :P) Unless its mobile...? or has shields/gravity well/cloaking or whatever, being asgard its bound to have some neat shizz right?

This baby would be using more power in a day than Atlantis did it's first two seasons. So the conduit structure down the center, and eventually the vent structures in the pocket area will be the exhaust for the power systems. at least that's my idea. I suppose it could be a massive engine to give the station a measure of mobility, but I would imagine the stresses would be far to great for it to be mobile. either way they look cool. Plus if you look closely, the conduit system is modeled strait from one of the drawings in "Fifth Race". I saw it and thought it looked "Asgardy" enough to fit in, so I had to use it somewhere. lol. | |

ok. I'm at a crossroads. I decided to try another approach toward the bottom of the gondola section of the station. Something that looked less engine like. Now I'm not sure which direction to head. I'm not really happy with either, but I wanted to get some outside opinions. Choice A: Vents styled like top of gondola and drone bays. (will add some more to fill in spaces) ![]() Choice B: Original concept direction ![]() Option C: complete redesign. I'm starting to lean toward this idea, but not sure where to take it......

I like the first one better. The smaller the structures are, the better sense of scale is ... and it just looks cooler IMO. Great model by the way

thx! well, here is choice C I suppose. Basically a sort of evolution of A, with a little more blocky shape and less of the boat hull look. I think I'm liking this more. I may keep working on this, and see what everyone thinks.
