I think I have something I am happy with. at least mostly. I may replace the big panels at the middle with something like the curvy bits on a Jackson Class but I'm not sure yet.

anyway, pic!

So is that a ship in itself or is it just the central part of the station?

it's just the core part of the station. I call it a gondola because it's sort of suspended between the massive storage bays. power plant / computers / city / supergate on the gondola and all the storage out in the bays.

ok. last update for the day. Finished the piers. or at least this version.

pics also show the supergate housed in one of the towers. Not sure if I will put one in the other tower. I kind of like just the one.

also added a new snazzy animated thumb for the icon just for the hell of it.

You could always make the other one a gate as well so they could come out one and into another!

Cody: about the supergates, I'm not sure how big they should be. The idea why there are supergates on the station is that thousands years ago Asgard didn't possesed todays hyperdrives, so in order to fight in Milky Way, they had to build few supergates. It's only logical that such gate(s) should be also in main fleet stogate.
So the supergates are kinda obsolete now, therefore I'm not sure if such 5000 years old tech ought to be big like Atlantis :-) but this is just detail.

Anyway I like the bottom of the city. At first I thought that there would be another city also there, upsided down :-) I however think replacing that big panels with some curvy lines or something might be better. Or perhaps giving there solar plants or something (plan B for case of main generator shutting down?).

Somebody above asked about moving the station. I think with ZPM-like powerplant size of Mt. Everest under the city it should be possible to go into hyperdrive in one piece. But station is not deathstar, it actualy might be pretty fragile. It has thousands of Asgard drones and I'm still thinking about the time dilatation device, so it isn't defenseless, but it wasn't build to fight, Valhalla is actualy hidden in planetary nebula. I somehow doubt about the shields for thing of this size. This is Asgard Pearl Harbor, ships storaged there should be fighting, not port itself, there just is no point in moving it.
