I do a fair number of scifi debates centering around 40k, mostly we take the sizes and results that are most similar and common and use them as the average considering most others to be outright wrong errors in the Imperial Records or Outliers that just don't fit accepted fact. (Like the Tau Broadsides in their Codex killing an Imperial Frigate, it just ain't going to happen... ever.)

Currently accepted length for the Cobra is 1 kilometre.

They exist only for point defence against bombers/fighters/torpedoes and the like, instead of doing a lot of damage they just saturate the area with a crapload of it.

so great job kadaeux and im looking forward the BFG mod, have been following it since heretic announced it and first started the BFG forum.
Yes its never fun to discuss whose the bigger fan or who has the most knowledge (as it always devolves into quoting large bodies of text and the other person going "I know that" whether they do or not before posting their own large body of text

And thanks, the mod is going... well its going at the moment We're never quite sure where we stand at any given moment.

well as i use to post on the forums, don't rush but don't die, it will be done when its done.

wouldnt the hydra's be better suited for that role, seeming as that is thier role, as i cant see hydras taking out anything as large as figthers or bombers. well maybe a shuttle.

one thing that annoyed me about BFG was weapons on board, they use to say you cant use anything other than shotguns incase it pierces the hull!?!!? what the fluff states that the ships have several metres thick armour, granted the armour is simply bolted on or it may in fact be double-hulled, as some novels hint at the extreme amount of bulkheads and strengthening girders in the hull. but even so that would suggest that even the thin hull maybe what... inches thick? im sorry but not even a bolter round can penerate that, you would need the heavier weapons like, plasma, lascannons and melda's.

sorry im ranting on your thread.

There is already roughly 100 Hydra batteries present, maybe 200, I haven't done a recent headcount

As to the worry about weapons penetrating the hull. Well that seems to be one of the things that has everyone confused. 40k Ships take weapons fire to the hull that make the nuking of Nagasaki and Hiroshima look like pop-guns yet they are always worried about internal weapons fire penetrating the hull.
One can merely assume that its more a case of the worry happening near areas much less protected (exterior Airlocks etc) considering whenever you look at the fluff to do with it its always in those sections that the worry seems to be.

In a tiny break from the Dagger I got this done.
I got a little bit more work done on her

EDIT: Don't ask about the bizarre lighting artifacts in the renders, I have no idea A: What it is or B: How the hell it happened. Even if it does look cool

Actually the light colours are the same, just I usually render from a Starboard view and the blue light is on the Port side of the ship.

VERY nice work! I actually had to talk my CPU into NOT commiting suicide, by
promising never to do anything THIS complex. BattleFleet Gothic must have
some awesome ships if this is any example. ^_-

Very very nice, I see a great improvement over your early works. I do love the Imp Navy cathedrals in space.
