Halo Mars Sector Shipyards

Although I still havent managed to get 3dsmax running on my MAC I just got hold of cheetah3D which can at last render with AA and i can work on models that sketchup cant run. To celebrate ive decided to go back and finish my Mars Sector Shipyards I started a while back. The finished model will incorporate a large station connected with a tether to phobos (mars's larher moon) with a space elevator running between them. Here are some screens of the shipyards so far. Basically large eliptical sections covered in scaffold. Different tirers are for different classes of ship (biggest at the top). However there are hundreds of docking ports for anything smaller than a cruiser. You can see warsock's frigate models used in some of my pics for scale and positioning. And as i break up from uni in 7 days ive got a 16 week summer to get my three WIP's finished!

looking sweet so far. I love the grittyness of it.

2d art is treated as a bastard child in 3D forums.
There are cultures on this planet that are just plain not ready for advanced technologies like explosives and automatic guns

yer thanks thats what i dont like about the star trek type universes, everything is so clean all the time lol. In the Alien/Hallo universes there is a lot of raggard marines with dirty boots, it captures the type of industrialization of the societies it is supposed to be built for.
