I'm redesigning my captain's quarters, but meantime here's a few other goodies to keep everyone happy :-)

Captain Reyf's quarters from the USS Fitzgerald. Note the copy of the Neverending Story on the shelf next to the door. This room was created with the same mindset that they used for Picard's quarters on the 1701-E: re-dress the Voyager set. This is the same room, just with different colored walls and a different layout. The layout by the way was drawn partially from Picard's quarters on the 1701-D and partially from the 1701-E set. When I get time to do a larger render you'll see what I mean. Colors were sampled from "Evolution" (TNG 3x1)

Alright so this was just the graphical version of thinking out loud, this is the Voyager residential corridor but with colors from the 1701-E version of the set. Not saying I'm doing any other 1701-E interiors but still, you gotta admit they did a good job with this set.

And finally the TOS tricorder, my own version since the LWO version linked to in another thread couldn't be read by Bryce. This is a very quick-and-dirty version, but it still got some TLC--it was only a rush job because it's going to be seen on a small side table and not have any closeup shots. It may interest fans to know that there were three versions of the actual tricorder prop when TOS was in production, one "hero" model which worked all the way through (lights, screen, the whole deal) and was extremely detailed and could withstand closeup shots, another less-detailed version which was typically carried by the actors in scenes where the tricorder face was not seen, and a third that was just a hollow shell to be used when filming scenes involving physical violence. They did this to protect their limited stock of hero tricorders from being damaged. A pity none of the original props can be found in the archives nowadays. The source by the way for my model was this image:

What do you guys think?

That looks fantastic!

I've always loved Voyager's darker, more metallic interiors. It just seems more futuristic to me.

Nice.

I just wasn't satisfied with that last version so I made up a new one that better suits my tastes...have a look and see what you think:

This one still is moody and deliberate, only this time it strikes a better balance between being moody and being classy. Looking at this interior is meant to convey the impression that my character has tastes that are sophisticated and refined, and (you can't see the outer walls, but other implements around the room include a copy of the Mona Lisa to our left, another momento table to our right that holds the TOS tricorder I did, my diploma from Starfleet Academy hanging above that, a metal-glass sculpture in one corner, 1701-E gold model on one window momento stand, an old-fashioned telescope next to it, a gold-plated microscope, several glass bottles). All these things are meant to convey that my character is also a student of science, just like his friend Captain Reyf is, and that my character also has a taste for classic things (also as evidenced by the old-fashioned TV set by the door).

More renders coming soon, but what do you guys think?

ALSO: I've finished my turbolift interior, built with a 1701-E philosophy (no connection between that and the gold model in my quarters though). Have a look:

What do you think? (based on colors and design in "Author, Author")

Beautiful. The Sovereign class is my favourite sci-fi ship ever and I love it's interiors. The way you are blending the Intrepid and Sovereign interiors is really well done.

I like it a lot!!

nice job, but im not so sure its a good idea having an err, pinup model on the wall. Hes the captain, so maybe he should put the picture in an interior room, or something. Unless its supposed to be his wife

haha no, not my wife...you've actually stumbled upon a plot element I was hoping someone might spot :-) you're absolutely right, it's NOT becoming for a Starfleet captain to have a pinup like that in his quarters, and in fact I was countin on that to let people know that my character isn't an actual Starfleet captain. Remember, the ship's registry is the ISS Voyager--Independent Star Ship, and that my character is the only one aboard. This room is meant to reflect intelligence and sophistication, yes, but also there are some touches that are meant to communicate the notion that we're not dealing with your average Starfleet officer. That's part of why I wrote a scene in Reyf's quarters, so that viewers could see the marked differences between them.
