Looks MUCH better, though I would have had the radius of the panel follow the curve of the orange bar, on the top piece. Oh and there seems to be a flipped polygon on your orange thingy

I have little sympathy for you on the poly editing front!

Keep up the good work!

That polygon is quickly becoming the Bane of my existence. There's nothing on the model to explain why it's rendering out grey, I think it's just an fPrime error.

As for following the curve of the RCS housing, well, umm, that was the plan, but when it came to rounding I kinda forgot, and I reeeeeeeeeeeally don't want to go through that again LOL. I may revisit it later, when the pain subsides. :-P

Why not try a render with LW's native renderer? Just to see if it's an FPrime or a model error...

This might sound stupid, but have you tried merging points?

For trouble polygons - I triple them, and then re-merge them. This often fixes them even when there was nothing wrong with them before.

Also check out the 'unify polys' tool (usually in the detail tab) which merges together doubled up polygons, one of those (OH GOD HOW USEFUL) plugins

I know that pain. I have several hundred of them so far

Pardon my french but WTF is the design for? What time period? A holoship? Destroyer? Hospital ship? Border patrol? A little back-story would be nice.

@ Hellsgate, firstly, read post #6. Secondly, if you're gonna ask questions, try to be a little more polite, or don't bother.

Some more updates, mainly on the panelling, it takes a while. But pretty much done.

Next step is more nurnie areas and some surface details.

ps. FYI, 212,578 polys so far.

Looking good, though for the sake of visual continuity you could do with some depressed areas, like you have on your forward corner pieces.

Look forward to seeing the nurnies, though I still think the thingies you 'borrowed' from me need to be larger. Not sure I like the 2 bars either side of them.

Indents will be coming through the hull detailing

The two bars, yeah, way ahead of you on that one, already got rid LOL.

As for the Phaser emitters, I think the problem with them is that there's no 'size reference' on the mesh as yet. As at the moment, they're approximately twice the size of the Defiants Pulse Phaser Emitters, so I'm hesitant about making them bigger as I reckon they'd look ridiculous when the rest of the detail is in place.

Windows will help, which will be appearing after the long weekend, heading off for the weekend tomorrow. :-D
