Thanks for the nice comments.

Spectre_08: I wanted to try EVE a couple of months ago and even downloaded the Game from their website but didn't get through to installing it so you do have a bit of an edge on the ships that are in EVE

I think that spaceships (and especially capital ships) only come in a hand full of base shapes that are then modified and expanded to make up everything we see out there (I'd count mine to the X-Wing, X-Bomber, Tie-Bomber shape). This is why I think you will always find some similarity between different spaceship designs, although I didn't have any specific model in mind when creating this design. (and I think Berkut was a bit closer with his Homeworld reference than the Minmatar Bellicose - although I can see the similarities in the basic hull shape, but thanks for prefering my design over EVE's )

Hi, I managed to find some time to continue the Poseidon.

I refined the linkup between the wings and the blades a bit further. The backwards facing blades have now found a shape (and purpose) as maneuvering and vertical thrusters.

They can be swept outwards for extended leverage and to bring them nearer to the center of mass of the Poseidon.
It is somewhat of a design flaw but I am having difficulties putting thrusters on the front of the ship without ruining the look. But since the main weight of the ship is closer to the back this should be acceptable.

I also added to bombs to the weapons pylons. Rather simple at the moment but real bombs aren't all that complex in their design.

I wasn't quite finished with these additions but since my work is currently taking over quite a bit of my free time I wanted to post these pictures before they gather dust on my harddrive.
