So how long before we see this in huge battle scenes, or dropping off a Gryphon
runabout or something? How's Scott? I heard he was in an accident.

I have said it before on the first version and I will say it again on this one. Outstanding work!!! This has been by far one of my favorite fan designs that I have seen in a very long time. Keep up the great work, I look forward to orthos when you are done and maybe even a size comparison chart with specs or something.
yes, i have been quite surprised by how many people enjoy this fan design, it truly is a wonderful design, otherwise i wouldn't be working on it.
i will be sure to make orthos when i am done, just remind me when the time comes.

Nice updates. Was wondering if you plan to release this when finished?
if and when i will release it is still on the table. i wouldn't mind not releasing it at all as most of my models i have released have been not properly credited, which you can assume, pisses me off royally. examples is the use of my madcat mk2 model on the mechwarrior living legends project which you may google. they claim it is there model, and that is just wrong. things like this discourage artists like myself from releasing there models that they have works so long on. i may be willing however to release the model to only those i know and or have a good risen to have it, maybe they have a good idea for a sceen or animation, etc. in the end tho, its up to not just me, but also Galen and Kaden the original designers.

I noticed a small error over the bussards. A small gray lip, maybe verts that needs to be joinned.
indeed is seems to be and error there. but, let me inform you, there is no error, infact its an error in Fprime, the renderer i used to render my images there. its very annoying and makes my work not look good, but fprime is a great renderer, since it only took me a minute to render those.
fprime doesn't like certain things, like overlappying verts attached to the same polygon. and will do funny things to those polygons. in the end it only makes my modeling less nice and i should start taking bets for how long it will be till someone posts a comment on it, hehe. anyway, gives me a good laugh tho. just wanted to clear that up, sorry for the story.

So how long before we see this in huge battle scenes, or dropping off a Gryphon
runabout or something? How's Scott? I heard he was in an accident.
as for big battles and such, i don't know. Scott is in the hospital and my faith in his project is lost, and i only wish now to complete models that i have recently started. i wouldn't mind doing some simple animations like the Gryphon launching and the other hanger doors opening and closing, if i put that much detail in.

sorry for the long stories, just thought i would type a lot today.

as for the model, i will be working on it some this weekend, and hopefully have an update in a day or two. a few things have been going thru my mind about the hanger doors, all three of them. how the doors should open and such so feel free to discuse here what your ideas are.
we have three hangers, the rear, clamshell door, the middle spin hanger that opens up upwards on a curve, tho i was thinking of having it go down into the ship instead of up.

and the gryphon hanger. that may have some clearance issues if i have it slide into the hull, so i was thinking of having it fold open.

anyway, i would like comments on that.

thanks agian for all your comments to everyone who has posted.

I hope you include me in that list, I have Galen and kadens original mesh and I love it. I'd love to do some scenes in Max with this one but whatever you decide is up to you and I will respect that but I want you to know that I would never make a scene without giviing proper credit.

wanted to do an image of the rear hanger bay for size comparison, as you can see the bay is pretty large.

used the Chaffee shuttle created by Nico Weigand

then, with the shuttle i felt compelled to do a shot with both the Chaffee and the Gryphon. note the size of the gryphon. as a runabout its much larger.

some lighting errors in there, and there are some polygon errors on the inside of the hanger bay but pay them no mind as they arent part of the final mesh.

for anyone who doesn't know, the gryphon was designed and originally modeled by Galen and Kaden, i remodeled the redesign of the gryphon last summer.

Keep up the good work on the Legacy, looking forward to those updates this weekend.

If anything, I would like to see the Legacy Class starship modded into Star Trek Armada II so it could be played in the game. But I too would like to see 3D Images of this ship being piloted and seeing some combat.

hey jack looking good,

the runabout has its own shuttle bay on the underside of the saucer, so it wouldnt need to get into the back or top bays. we actually made the underside bay for the runabout when it was originally the captains yacht

And when the day arrives, i'll become the sky
And i'll become the sea and the sea will come to kiss me. For I am going home

nothing can stop me now

oh oh. yeah, i didn't mean to think the gryphon would go into the back end, even tho it could, but yeah, the undersauser hold for the grypgon is pefect. tho the dymentioned changed a bit from the old design to the new, i may have to modify the size of the hold there. still tho, contemplating the design of the doors as i go.

currently working on paneling some more.

i am glad as well Kaden that you like how it is coming along. she isn't to poly extensive yet either. well it wont be till i bevel in the shield grid and windows, then it will spike up, nothing my new computer cant handle.

The new Legacy looks pretty good, and the Gryphon looks fine too.

Off topic: somebody knows news about Nico? If my memory serves, he's a real scientist now.
