Okay so now i was going to add an ACOG sight (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight). For those who don't know the ACOG is for close in combat, kinda like if your in a fire fight and you need to hit something that is only 15 meters away you get a great shot...

anyway my issue is this, the Di of the ACOG is 55mm (not much yeah... well it is when the gun height is only 150mm in the last image... so the ACOG looks massive... do i size the scope down to 30mm (the smallest i can do) or do i have a set of sensors mounted where the scope would be and have a eye peace HUD? Opinions plase, i will try and give an image of both by tomorrow night...

Update on P90 ish

I have added the control panel on the back of the handle/sight, the sensors on the front of the handle/sight along with a flash light.

The colour is a possiable idea... so opinions of course are welcome..

Looking promising.

I think that you should just model the gun, details and all. You have a good base here, but even if you were to put a 20000x8000 texturemap on that it is still going to look low-poly.

Again, a good start, but now take what you have back to the drawing board, and start to "greeble" it. Sharpen edges, add body segmentation, bolt heads, clips, RIS rails, cooling vents... take it from a ".45 ACP Liberator" to a M2 HB.

thanks for those kind words, however i only understood around half of what you said

I think i will work on a camo pattern that could be streched and i will add the details as you say... so again thank you and i will plan to have details soon. i am going back to the rifle for tonight though, it just doesn't look right so i am starting almost from scratch...

Basically, build the gun, and save the texturing for the materials that it is made out of... steel, titanium...

The comment I made about the ".45 ACP... to M2 HB"... the Liberator was as close to a cap gun as you could get and still fire real bullets. The M2 HB is the Current U.S. Heavy Vehicle Mounted Machinegun, its a .50 cal Monster, with tons of rivets, edges, and details.

Take your gun and break it down, and then build it like you would if it were real. Have a separate body section, for the stock, action, front end, carryhandle/Acog.

Hope this helps...

Okay i think i have the basic shape done... but now comes the details, of course there are no ejection ports for shells, but do i have a 'hammer'? would there be bolts and rivets on a weapon from the 24C?! And even a very basic texture (steel) stretches it's self around the model there must be a way to make it repeat itself rather then stretch. Can you help me with this part. Texturing has always been my biggest issue and while others have tried to explain it to me i still can't get a hold of how it all works...

I am good with MS Paint and i use 3D S max 7...

Its got to have some bolts or something, or else the weapon could not be dismantled.

I'm better with Photoshop than Paint, and am completely lost with Max...
if you want, I could show you what I mean about building the gun, and leaving the textures for the metal... If you willing either PM me your mesh, as a OBJ or LWO, or I'll whip up one of my own and show you.
