UEO Atlantis DSV-8100; Internal Buildup

Hey SFM!

Urr, well I guess this is both officially my introduction and first WIP thread. I've lurked alot (as my registration date might imply...) and have always followed many of the projects here with a certain degree of awe. I wont stroke egos, but sufficed to say the sheer dedication to inefficient polygon usage around is something to aspire to.

Anyhoo. A certain member here on this forum has been pestering me to start a WIP blog on a project I've been working on for a little while, although it's been on the back burner for the last few weeks due to university obligations.

My goal in this project is not to build the interior of this ship; that's just lunacy... but rather construct enough of its guts that I can put together a scene of it when it was still under construction, with enough detail that it can sell itself from a reasonably close inspection. So... For those of you who recognise the ship...

Are you planning to do anything like a completed bridge or corridors or anything for this little beauty?

I have a bridge already as a stand alone model(...) and for the purposes of this project parts of it ARE present in the mesh (the armoured bubble visible in the center of the arrowhead bow) however I dont think Ill be going to the extent of detailing the bridge interior on this one purely for efficiency's sake. Same with the corridors, although my hope is that texture work will fix up such details without the need for modelling deck gratings...

Ill go through my old drawings and see if I can find the concept of where Im going with this. Sufficed to say, this is a submarine, and it was built entirely underwater. sQ verse 'n' all...

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

That's a great concept, enough of an interior to show it under construction (or perhaps destruction? ). And a massively overlooked and underrated sci-fi too.
