| My only prob with the amount of the cwis is that curently the are used as missile defense, you would want to be well defended for sure, but with all the slugs that would be flying from all those guns would prolly muck up any battle; IE shooting your own fighters inadvertantley. |

| Lol, well, it's a bit like current day CIWS systems then. They're switched off too unless they're expecting incoming missiles out of fear that they'll accidentally take down anything that comes too close to the ship. (as has happened several times with various navies.) In the mean time here's something I cooked up just now. You can run but you can't hide... >>>>CIWS test avi<<<< |

| Here's a render with an updated positioning of the CIWS. I'm liking it much better this way. |

| SFM Guru | yeah that looks more than enough, I think it really depends on how the ciws are used. I know you compared modern warships with galactica/ww2 battleships. I think the key factor is the difference in use here. On modern warships there are only a few because they have all kinds of advanced tracking systems and the like(despite the fact cruisers and destroyers may have plenty of AS missiles its highly unlikely they would ever fire more than 1-3 against one ship), so they actually aim at incoming threats. Where's WW2 battleship/bsg style is more of a putting up a wall of fire that nothing can pass. What's more effective? I suppose the modern way since thats the way militaries do it, but the "wall of fire" has a coolness effect much greater, lol. |

Also with less enemies at sea the ships have slowly lessened the amount of weaponry or refined the more modern systems to extend cover when older systems are removed. They'll revert to the old "battlewagons" quickly when it comes to a new war. | |
