She looks great, but I'm just proud of you for naming her Heracles rather than Hercules (for any that don't know, he was originally Heracles the greek hero {Hera, his adopted and not so loving mother, being queen of the Gods}, but when the romans adopted many greek myths the romans renamed/translated him to Hercules [But Kevin Sorbo in 'Heracles' would not have had quite the same ring to it, perhaps?])

Thanks guys!

@S.W.Ninja: Cheers for the taking your time on that sketch. That's a very cool idea to have a big addon to the window section of the bow I intended to work it out as an 'innie' but an 'outie' like that would look very cool I think, it would change the shape of the ship to something a bit more agressive.

@Tinukedaya: yeah, I thought about going for the 'only VTOL' appraoch but then again, some deckspace would give the possibilitie of easy rearming/refueling or prepping for larger missions where the launch times of each seperate ship may be too far apart. Goodpoint though about the physical needs to mechanically stop a plane in zero-G. I don't intend to make an arrestor system, just open deckspace for the to touch down.

On that note, I started blocking out some major components to to play around a bit. the large red bars are a 100 meter and 50 meter reference and I threw in a couple of Freak's Ares fighter as a size reference. keep in mind that they're small one-man fighters, about the size of a raptor.
I'd like to put one or two main main guns on the bow for ship-to-ship as well as orbital bombardment, I'm thinking two large rail-cannon turrets. On the big empty plates next to the second turret, on the flanks, I intend to put a large AA installation.

The black tubes sticking out of the bulge on the bow i'd like to use as long range missile tubes, much like the torpodo tubes on a modern day sub, they're also mounted diaginally behind the sonar dome, on the Heracles it seems just too much of a sweet spot to be left untouched.

The flight deck is just a really rough size experiment. The squares sticking through are the locations for the lifts. the smaller one for the fighter that goes directly into the launch bay prepping are, the large one (+- 55 x 55 meters, big!) is intended for the two dropships. The lift goes straight into the cavernous area where the arboretum is on the Olympic. The thickness and size of the flight deck is needed to allow for a gigantic bay door to slide into place when the lift in down in the hull to allow for an airlock between the hangar and the flight deck.
Also, I wanted to make the surface area of the flight deck to allow at least the two dropships to be on deck when needen. I've put in some slanted landing strips to give the landing fighter some leeway in where to touch down in case they're damaged or otherwise impaired for a clean landing.
I know the landing deck doesn't look like as it is but I'm pretty confident that with the right detailing it can look fitting.

As always any thoughts and suggestions are more than welcome

Not sure if its just shadow annomolies or mesh issues but those dark spots just under the curved ridge keep appearing, they were on an earlier render too?

Decks looking cool ontop, take into consideration that she'd probably need more heavy duty antenna arrays too as she's a carrier. For fleet command aswell as long range communications and intel stuff. Looking sweet sofar though

Aha! Fixed it! Apparently, for some reason or other, the shadow settings for my main light got changed to 'shadow map' which was messing it all up. I put it back on vray Shadow, et voilà!

Good call on the antennae, I definately need to beef up the sensor cluster at the bow and perhaps make the radomes a lot bigger on the bridge and keel.

Looking truely cool mate. the paint could use a bit more depth to give it scale. Loose the new addition you've added, looks rdiculouse to me and is killing the ships's elegant design. Adde more details to guns and such instread, their location in front is such that they are easily seen, so a biy more details will help with the scale again..

Good work mate

I dont think he's finished the attachment yet its just blocked in as he wants it, I think elegance is more for the Olympic I doubt the military would be as concerned with such things, more in terms with survivability and usability.

While i do agree with Al that the landing pad looks goofy, making the back edges follow the ship's lines would help a lot. I think an Iron/steel cross girder system with a thinner metal landing top would look really good instead of such a thick piece.

I like it, of course it needs more work.

You also got it keep in mind that the ship would need to have a different out line to it Civilian Counter part, otherwise they would get blow out the sky’s by mistake.

Meph you could ad another bridge modular to under the ship, and have it as a radio tower or com’s tower or something alone those lines. This would also change the outline of the ship make it different form the Civilian version, but also keeping the elegance of the design in-tacked.

Well there isn't much you can do about re-making the ship into a mil vessel that won't make it look fugly in someway. Filling in the round part is pretty much a wash even if you fill it with VL silo's, AA weapons, heavies, or detection gear.

Here's a suggestion for you flight deck. Since you've gotten a well designed hole in the hull via the observation window fill it with forward Torp rooms/AA, and a multi deck launch scheme. The end decks swing into position for launch and act like outer hull when not launching.
