Cheers guys!

Here's the work for today. I unwrapped and mapped the top of the launch section (as always a mesh error snuch in...) as well ass the long range missile/torpedo launchers on the flanks.

I also redisgned and mapped the vault covers. As mentioned, they looked a bit too clunky for the rest of the ship so here's the new version.

I also updated the texture for the entire flank of the bow but that render has just started. Not a final version though, just a slight update I did while killing some time during this render. (which took a good 2 hours)

nice, the vault covers fit with the design much better now. Is that segmentation or mesh errors on the curve right below the covers on the last image?

Those little ciws turrets are just awesome, too bad we will barely be able to see them in the shots of the whole ship.

Very Nice work mate. Those doors remind me of a Viking Sheild, not that a bad thing.

Cheers guys!

@Berkut: I think the segmentation you mean is probably the little struts I put there. because of the lighting and camera angle the look a bit odd. On the new redner I made they're more clearly visble but I did spot some other small mesh irregularities that need some attention. Too bad these only pop up after rendering...

@Freak: Hehehe, I noticed that too just now.

Double-post ho!

Here's a nice render of the Heracles as is at the moment.
I intend to use it as a background at the office. Guess how many screens I have. (Yup, I had to rar it due to size) rkwink:

ok Meph I think I might have one small crit on the missile tubes. Do you think maybe that there might be more scorching on the hull along the flight path of the missiles? Now Im not sure myself on this, I have seen the actual scorching from missile launhes on naval vessels, Im just not sure if it would be a similar thing or not due to the lack of air in space. To me though the markings you have look good going aft on the ship I just feel like the scorches going forward are too uniform. Could just be me though who knows.
