| SFM Guru | 1701 Phase II Its come to my attention that one cannot truly be part of SFM until they have modeled the Enterprise. This said i am jumping on the band wagon with the Matt Jefferies design of the Phase 2 enterprise... though im not going to keep 100% true to the design (don't like the torpedo launchers). here is the starts of the hull. |

| Well, basicly it's a pretty simple shape. The front part of the nacelle is basicly an extruded rectangle, with smooth corners. When I modelled the nacelle, I extruded a modified rectangle (which was modelled to be one half of the nacelle, to safe some time since it's the same one the left as on the right), changed it to "editable poly" and to get the round part of the front I selected the long and straight corner (basicly the middle, if you will) and used the "hinge from edge" tool. The second part of the nacelle is a cylinder with a round front, which I streched and aligned with some ffd-modififers. The grills where done by boolean, just modify and align another cylinder and after that it's just a bit more poly modelling... |

| SFM Guru | okay so i sat down once again to get back into this model and do the warp nacelles, and then i was confronted with a problem (highlighted in attached) I have a decent idea what causes this but no clue how to get around it. |
