New Air/Space Fighter

I finally got around to modeling a fighter I've had stored in the back of my head for years. I don't know exactly what it's designation is going to be yet so if anyone's got any ideas throw 'em out there.

The basic gist of the thing is to be a very capable air/space superiority craft in service sometime around 2170ish. There's still a lot of work to be done, but I'm pretty happy with the layout as of now. The wings and stabs are just placeholders to give me (and you who are looking) an idea. I haven't got a clue how I'm going to do the cockpit either. As time permits I'll try to keep updating. At least I'm more motivated to complete this than I was my Lancer-class ship.

Comments and criticism welcome.

Looks really nice The only parts that bugs me are the engines - they look a bit too wide in the rear. But the model is pretty much bare so I can't tell what you're trying to achieve

Fitter, Happier And More Productive ...

I'm on leave starting today through next week so I hope to have a chance to complete the overall structure at a minimum. I love the Veritechs from Macross so those are good reference material. I already have quite a few pics of them myself.

The part I'm having trouble with regarding the cockpit is with the canopy. I'm trying to think of a way to do it so the design flows and still allows a good view. I'm also throwing around whether I want two seats in tandem or side by side. I'm thinking side by side. The engines will end up tapering more in the back at the exhaust nozzles, too.

Thanks for the input.

Nice shape man! And since it's 2170'ish, perhaps no need for a cockpit? You can make it a UCAV.

I hate UCAVs now so I don't think I'm going that route.
