| Ok, this is what I did when I made my gate. The patterns are all repeating. So you dont need to make such a long pattern. I divided the gate into 9 arcs to make it easier to work on. Change one and they all change as well. I did a negative intrusion where the specific design was to be placed, then modeled the detail into a plate on that one arc. Its a lot less work in the long run, especially with something like this. |

   | Haven't had much time to do any work on this as I'm trying to get my admissions and financial aid set up for the fall, but I got the ring designs done and roughly put them into place. It still needs some fine tuning to blend better but you get the basic idea. Next up, the glyphs. Then alls I gots to do is the greebles and the designs on the back and I can call this thing done.
