It's FAR more than that spud and always will be. Mental speed and the Program play well into the equation. And that's not even talking about the 'Talent' end of things.

STFU your negativity BS! And don't act like your the wounded party. As I said before NOTHING stops anyone from trying it themselves. The Sensei's are the official group if they do it or not is up to them, but nothing is stopping you from leading a poster based group other than yourself. Do or Do Not.

True, but the best way to improve is to practice. Even those with raw talent have to hone it through practicing. There will sadly always be some people who never get to be any good no matter how much they try.

Did I touch a nerve there mate?! It wasn't meant as a personal attack, it was simply that as soon as I suggested the idea it was knocked down. I appreciate that you did suggest doing it anyway, but when the first responses are "it won't work here" then it does give the appearance of negativity. If my reponse seemed overly martyrish then that's purely because I was frustrated

I'll sort out a thread a little later on once I've done a quick model based on the theme to get things going.

It's fine mate. Chrono is always welcome to post his thoughts in my threads. At least it keeps things lively!

It seemed kind of pointless having a lot of threads for a load of probably never-to-be-finished models

Hmmm, actually, to try to help others out a little with subdivision, here are some before and after images. Not sure it's that useful as it's fairly basic, but it may help someone!

Cube becomes sphere:

Cube with inset edges around one loop becomes smoothed cylinder:

Cube with inset edges around all faces becomes smoothed cube:
