Spud's completely random project thread (image heavy)

I'm slowly getting my inspiration back, which means I'm doing completely random low and high poly modeling to try to find something to work on... This made me think that some feedback might be interesting, so I thought I would post what I've been up to in here. I'm not saying any of this is ever going to be finished, but some of it might end up on the completed list!

Feel free to crit the designs and models in any way you feel appropriate, though please try to avoid technobable as it annoys me

Enjoy!

Cool stuff! That one ship is really strange, it demands a story.

the "thing"? after the trek looking ship looks cool. Has great potential to develop into an awesome alien spaceship imo.

Thanks all

The plants are ultra low poly, the windmill is low poly and the skull guitar is about 1,300 triangles, with the rest being high poly, though the high poly skulls are simply the low poly with a coupe of turbosmooth iterations applied

The SF ship started out as a rear end and then I sort of lost my enthusiasm, so I just added some basic parts to see what it would look like. This is how far I got before losing my way:

The original design was going to be more of a hammerhead design, and I think a single vertical wedge might work better than the current reuse of the "wing" arc...

Wow, that is a freaky design, lotsa possibilities for aliean tech there...

The skull's looking nice too although waaaay too smooth. That'll need some heavy bump mapping to come to life.
