| SFM Oracle | Phasers look funny? Hm. Several small arrays of... hm, let's say 50ft length with distances of about 100ft between? This way they can shoot by far faster and don't look too arkward. |

| The blast they would generate is a bit lower than a single big one, though, and as this ship is big I guess it's phaserblast should be big too... |

| mmrajotte. You should have a few big arrays, between 4 and 8, for handling say a breen cruiser or a borg cube, but... As your ship is so big, and if I remember correctly, it functions as a carrier/battleship, then you should have many smaller emitters. Each of the small emmitters would be individually targetable, or they could be slaved into groups, with each one being set to a different frequency randomizer, resulting in some devestating firepower, that could be used against any and all opponents, without introducing any superweapons. I am using the same basic idea with my Scabbard Class Carrier, which is WIP'd and up for download here on SFM. |

| SFM Guru | The ideas and details behind this are good, but honestly the hull in shape and scale is in dire need of an overhaul.I'm not suggesting major structural modifications but you must admit that the shape lacks refinement. I know maybe you don't have the knowledge to make an organic shape or something similar but the ship only needs moderate adjustments to become more realistic. I like it overall but for me it's not very beliveable..yet.Bottom line the ship is too thin and too edgy. Maybe if you experiment with a few plugins you can improve your ship or at least your knowledge: SketchUp Community Forums • View topic - [Plugin] Round Edge - v1.0 (by Bezier) Good luck and have fun. |

| Thanks for the advice but I'm sticking with the sharp edges for now. I think it kinda speaks to the design of the ship and what it's for. This ship isn't designed with grace in mind. |

| SFM Oracle | well, those smoother edges do also add a bit more realism to it, not only grace. But I think, that wcan also be done afterwards. Basically, I second the idea of Japme. The scabbard-class has this in a very nice way (btw, japme, what about an ortho of that finished beasty?). |

| As Marian said mmrajotte, you can always download the plugin, if only to expand your knowledge of SU. It might come in handy with future projects... |
