BSG Raptor

Hi,

this is my first post and I´am glad to show you my contemporary project.
It is just another alternative highpoly model of the BSG Raptor. I start working one week ago, but I work just 5 hours a day. It is for a special C4D Spacecraft Contest, so I hope I have a chance to win.

Oh, thank you!!
Really? I start modelling one year ago, and the tiger was my first realistic model. I tried it after 2 weeks practice. So the core point is that you identified it .
THX again!

One year? WOW, I'm impressed. I like it and welcome to SFM.

You did that after 2 weeks?!? And this after a year? Quite honestly I am most intrigued to see what you'll be able to do in like 2 more years.

THat's amazing work m8. The Raptor is possibly my favorite ship of all time. I intend to tackle it after I do my Mark 2 viper, but I dont seem to have your talent with modeling I find it very difficult right now. I find it a lot easier to work on animations.

In fact, my next WIP will be an animation featuring a Raptor doing a recon, if you ever want your Raptor to be featured in one of my animations let me know

Keep up the great work. Hope you do the interior too I love the engine detail.

Thx again, What can I say? I love Cinema 4D and I find it much better to modeling than 3DS or Maya. For me it was easier to learn. I find 3DS and Maya is a little bit confuse. For example the view navigation in C4D is more comprehensible, like the 3DS one. I just had a better start with C4D, but I won´t say that 3DS or Maya is bad, I just like more the Maxon Tool.

At the moment I hate to animate my models, because my system is much to slow. So, if you want to animate my Raptor, it will be a great pleasure for me.
But it is a highpoly model, right now I used 115 000 tris. I think when I´ve finished the model will have more the 250 000. This is without the hangar bay!
But you can try.
Ok, but I is very difficult to make a UVW map with a highpoly modell. So I´ll use standard maps. I hope that is not a problem for you, but I think if I export it into the FBX format you can use it with the textures.

I allready made some objekts with UVW maps, here a lillte taste:

Dusk

This are some game models for a young german game project.
For the Orge engine I export the files into the FBX format and than I rework the models in 3DS.
So... I persuade you will make it!

If I finished I´ll announce the Raptor for all.
