Sweet details.

I like the lounge.

Okay I'm in need of some serious help.
I noticed on the phobos model that Riley did not use 1 texture for the entire saucer. Instead he made a rectangular texture with a few panels on it. Somehow he made the texture follow the curve of his panel element in 3ds max. I have tried to duplicate this for over 5 hours now and it's literally driving me mad!

Does anyone know how I can do this? I've attached an example of the problem with this post.

(And no manually doing unwraps isn't an option)

Hum. There surely is a better way but...try an FFD modifier to make that circular segment rectangular, apply a planar UV, collapse the UV, remove the FFD. Don't know if it works at all...

Maybe a variation on this?

An easier way to make Trekkish ship hull "Aztec" patterns

Yes I've used that trick in the past in max.
I'm just trying to find out how it was done on the phobos.

Edited: Actually, try cylindrical mapping, it works perfectly (except the center most pieces where the tris join up, but that shouldn't be a problem)
