NADIA-Class Frigate hi, today i started a new ship, while the other one http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/3...p-no-name.html is waiting to be finished. i guess thats a problem, meaning thats my problem, to start an other model even the the other isn't finished yet. anyway. here are some rough pictures without any details etc... my first thought about it's purposing is that it could be a frigate. maybe inspired by an older design from some HOMEWORLD-ships but that's been not the intention. i just had some outlines in my mind, so here's the result. have fun! S.

Looks good for a start. The rear end looks alittle out of balance. maybe play with the angle more. oh yea put alittle dude next to it or something as a size reference, just to get more a feel for the ship. Other than that she or he looks great.

inserted a dude as wanted and shot another render. maybe that guy is a little bit to small but more or less thats the size, so the ship is a monster ... i gues. SHE is called Nadia .... a russian girls name. S.

ok. some more or less small updates right now. so i decided to delete down looking hull at the back of the ship because now it's looking a little bit more compact and streched then before. i hope you like ... otherwise i do

pretty good so far. I like the revised design more. I guess that depends on the rules of your universe, but I think the size of that human figure makes the ship look too enormous for a frigate.

i like the revised design more too, but i don't know anything about the rules of my universe ![]() you're right too with the measurement/scale of these. i found a Rodger Young model someone send me, but i dont know who it belongs to so i can't pay the credits i wanted. anyway i have done a compare-render with both ships. so i'm now satisfied with the size... [edit]calculation says NADIAs length is 365 meter[edit_off] also welcome any kind of C&C S. | |

here we go. i decided to change my renderer (c4d r6) into BLENDER 2.46 and i think it's been the right decission, because of ability to create some clay render / AO-render. detailing process will take a while i never belived THAT and it'll be a big challange for me to manage that, but at least it will be done some day. the pictures will show you some updates i am more or less satisfied with and some hull-paneling i am not satisfied with ![]() also included the main armament wich would also be seen in the ship-with-no-name-threat i started a while before. hull-panneling/plating is a killer to do too and , using RHINO 4 to model, right know i don not really know how to do this. having some good tutorials (belonging to other modeling software) but it s hard to "translate" them to Rhino. any help would be great in that way. anyway, have fun. stephan
