| Neato design! This looks like it could definitely go somewhere cool. I'd make the landing bay openings a more complex shape, though - something other than a straight box. Maybe offsetting them from being centered in the wings might be good too. |

| SFM Nugget | Thanks. im not sure how to change the shape of the landing bays. there isnt too much space there (and i want to keep 2 bays per wing). the Carrier is in fact 4 carriers in one. the internal fighter bay has 4 compartments. Each compartment has access to 10 catapults and one bay in the wings. (i think you get what i mean). I perhaps could fillet the upper corners of the boxes more which would give it a little bit more bsg style bay but im not sure as this would result in less available space for landings. whats still to do is adding doors for the catapults (easy - ad making them smaller - the carrier is in fact much bigger than the catapults might suggest). whats giving me a little headace are the doors for the landing bays in the wings. im not sure what i should add there. any suggestions? |

| Depends on the technology you're working with. You can either go with the whole magnetic shielding like they have in Star Trek and to a degree, Star Wars....or you can do emergency slam doors like they have in real life super carriers to prevent fires from spreading or, if you want a scifi similarity, watch the opening sequence of Star Wars III. When the shield on the hangar deck drops, watch the sliding doors pop out and slam shut on the sides of the bay.I believe the same concept is used on the bridge scene when Grevious exists the ship. |
