Exclamation MechWarrior fan Short[WIP pics.]

hey all.

back in 05 and 06 i worked on a mechwarrior short film, known to many as mechwarriormovie.com, which btw is no longer there.
some may even wondered what happened to it. and well truth is my partner Carl and I just feel out of doing it, we had other things to do.
another fact however is that we did alot of work, putting it together that when i looked back on it a few weeks back i thought to myself that i should definatly have finished that.
being 2008 now, i have learned a bit more since those days and i am taking up the duty of finishing my work on the film, maybe even complete it.

any. so i will be posting up pics and images here for your pleasure and enjoyment and if someone happens to want to give some good advice i always love those.

A little bit about the project and whats done
Carl and I worked both on a script to a short but enjoyable mech moc battle. idea was to have a band of mercs(in this case three pilots) to engage an enemy unit and take it out. idea was simple and in no time, after several revisions, we had a script and soon after a shot-list.

Carl then proceeded to make an "animatic" of the short. in the mean time i took mech models from various sources, which only actually included on guys models, known as "Pawel Czarnecki". most of the models i took right from his cob files, and converted for lightwave, fixed em up, textured and rigged them for animation. we have 9 in total but only 8 will be in the film.
some of the models i had to add some detail to and one i remodeled completely.

anyway. work now continues on this project and i plan to do all the pilot shots live action, as well as the general animation, using lightwave.

First image is of the Mech lineup, featuring the Mechs to be used in the short film.

link to an old script. much revising to be done still.

some close ups of the MadCat with a new texture i did today.

and two animations i did, first one is of a simple walk cycle of the madcat with the camera panning around it. second is just the walk cycle of the fafnir, ya need to play it in loop mode.

Any comments, questions, anything, are welcome.

Also, for anyone who would like to view the "animatic" I have please PM me and i will send you the link.

****some models by Pawel Czarnecki, sorry for no credit in images.*****
Jack.

an era gone by

WOW those are really good:-)

I still have MW4 mercs and other mechwarrior games. Too bad we will probably never see another mechwarrior game again thanks to m$ and then fasa closed down.

I can't stand the MW modding community they are super snobby and think that anyone who just wants to mod the single player campaign is a cheater. The only MW game after the pc series is on that old crappy xbox. I found a keyboard and mouse adaptor for the 360 the other day but from what I've seen of the MW franchise on the xbox it's just crap. All we have left is what we have all played to death. I wish these mechs were in MW4 instead of whats in there lol these are great.

Mechwarrior, for the Table top, has always existed side by side with Battletech. as a RPG.

Actually Jordan Wiseman (one of the founders of BT universe of products) has acquired the digital rights to BattleTech, MechWarrior, Shadowrun and Crimson Skies under his new company Smith & Tinker.

Anyway, to fuel jack's need for commentary (you poor, poor attention who... Er. NM ) Those are some spifftastic textures! Especially the rear of the MadCat "How's my driving? Call..."

Lovely model Jack. Have to say, the Madcat/ TImberwolf are the coolest mechs in that universe.

Great work. Do you plan to implement the BattleMaster, Archer and Rilfeman too? What other mechs are going to be in your lineup?
