Enterprise D (Galaxy Class)

I know this might be a bit early to be posting the WIP for this ship, but I'm not sure I've got the shape of the secondary hull right and am hoping someone here knows the ship better than me!

Also if anyone has an good reference material on the enterprise D it would be appreicated, especially on the deflector and the underside of the saucer were it joins the neck!

Take a look and let me know if the shape is right, can change easily at this stage.

Thanks!

That is a great start!
I can't see anything wrong with the shape, but I never liked it enough to know it that well...

Updated the shape of the neck and the upper side of the sec hull as well as doing the leading and trailing edges of the nacelle pylons. Thinking that they and the trailing edge of the hull should be more rounded but am not sure.

I think that the top of the dorsal should be a little wider. Its making the rest of the stardrive a little fat.

Might just be me though... im quite tired.

Tom Tucker: Now let's go to Ollie Williams' with the portside window report, Ollie?
Ollie Williams: I saw a fish!
Tom Tucker: Thanks, Ollie.

I had a model of the Ent-D (didn't finish, ran out of glue and stuff and then the shop shut down before i could get more stuff. ended up broken ..grr.)
Looks about right, almost bang on I'd say.

Cant describe what i think is wrong. something a bit, too rounded. the pylon-deck thing at the deflector area, just slightly.
a little too thick also, i think, or that could just be the POV on the images.
loose a between a quarter and a third of the height or something. on that 'deck' or something, but thats just my thought.
been donkeys years since i've even seen that ship.

Played with the rib down the back of the sec hull a bit, think its a bit closer to the model, but its hard to tell. Also added a placeholder saucer and nacelles.

lookin good, you might want to increase the polycount on the saucer rim and make it smoother.

On another note, are you considering releasing this?

I think the more important question is "Will you finish this?".

Lots of little updates tonight. Began to join the secondary hull together, finished and covered nacelle pylons, added sensor strip to trailing edge, and corrected sensor strip round the edge (was going round to far).

I'm begining to notice the difference between the models now, the 6ft model didn't have the sensor strip at the rear which is why I've only added it now (was lucky I noticed it before I went to far). Want to get the shape of this closer to the 6ft, but then I don't have much reference for the 4ft so thats my main reason. If any one knows a good location for reference shots of the Galaxy class can you post it please? The top of the secondary hull is giving me head aches at the moment trying to get it right.
