| SFM Oracle | Re imagined Reboot, or The Alternate Reality iConnie Im starting out with a roughed out ship close to the movie one Most of the parts are temps or rough REALLY rough. Materials are crap ugly too. Things I hope to keep are details in the neck, saucer rim (that bicycle tyre look (spent the most time arguing with this part of the ship) The strange waveguide cowling. Bussard cowlings and mounts. And the odd aft form of the secondary hull. Final thing is the overall finish of the ship. I don't know how much will stay or go with this The final product might look noting like these early images since Im running by the seat of my pants. (favorite method for hobby modeling) [generic notifications] I would like to ask that people refrain from making opinions on the movie or related materials in here. This thread is for the object in the attached images only. There are other threads for the discussion of the film and its associated materials. I DO NOT know if it will be released publicly, private, etc, so please DO NOT ASK. I have a few people in mind for loaning her out to if they are interested but I will make those contacts on my own. enough of this crap on with the scary renders! ![]() note attachment is only a thumbnail next post contains renders Last edited by MadKoiFish; 06-02-2009 at 05:59 AM. |

| SFM Oracle | Renders, lots of stuff is in a clunky state ATM. Oh ship is modeled in 3dsmax9 with mental ray she is about 340meters based off the profile image and 3/4 deck saucer rim, this will change over time. MKF- Last edited by MadKoiFish; 12-14-2008 at 10:00 AM. |

| SFM Oracle | Ok 5am so I gotta quit this is where it sits. That secondary hull is giving me fits. in the construction scene you can clearly see a change in the hull shape as it tapers to the shuttle bay (assuming that's where it is) this shape on the upper hull between the neck and struts is a nightmare. As well as those phase coil thing or whatever the 3 thingies are called. So atm it is all one huge lump making for a fat front. The deflector will be somewhat inset into the housing so this should negate that crotch thrust forward effect. I think to get the effect I want i will have to merge portions of the neck or all of the neck into the secondary hull. I might be misreading the images totally and wasting my time. ![]() And yeah it is packing NEM era shuttles. Second image has some real WTF going on on the saucer materials. Last edited by MadKoiFish; 03-29-2009 at 08:38 AM. |

| SFM Guru | Yay, MKF! Take it on, brother! I like that you've restored the "scoop" to the underside of the Primary Hull. That's a graceful shape that I'm sad the new E has lost.
